Out God Damn Pigeon Porter was brewed with our friends from across the pond in mind. We use traditional English Amber malt, but being the unruly Americans we are, we put our own happy twist on things. One of our favorite hops, Simcoe, was added late in the bail. This delightful porter will take your mind off the everyday nuisances of living in a big city, especially those f-ing pigeons!

Dark with a light tan head. Roast and chocolate on the nose and palate. As it warms, chocolate dominates. Definitely hoppier than most porters but I don't mind. Mouthfeel is amazing: thick and creamy.

The Pigeon Porter from Spiteful Brewing is well known around the city of Chicago. The beer is unassuming, roasted, and has a good body to it. It is a highly approachable dark beer for any patron and fulfills that bridge into the darker side of beer enjoyment.

Had had variants and been underwhelmed, but this orignal beats expectations. Shimmering brownish black with a fat finger of brown foam. Smell features deep roast with earth, leather, char, tobacco, bitter dark chocolate and earthy hops. Taste is much the same, hops have a herbal quality on the finish. Chewy, earthy, malty, heavily roasted and has hints of booze. Forget the gimmicks this is some of spiteful's best work

I tried this beer at Johnny I-Pass' whilst their for the Eagle River Pond hockey tournament. It was a decent beer.

Pours a dark chestnut color topped by half an inch of frothy, khaki suds. The aroma features big-time roasted malt along with some peat, peanut brittle, and dark chocolate. Sheets of speckled lacing linger on the glass as the beer recedes.
The taste follows the nose, featuring healthy portions of ashy, roasted malt, the darkest chocolate, and earthy, herbal hops. Warming reveals notes of currants, blackberries, charcoal, caramel, and dates. The balance here is very deftly achieved considering the boldness of the flavors, and the surprisingly dry finish keeps you coming back for more. Medium body and moderate carbonation make for a full but unobtrusive mouthfeel that lets the flavors do the talking.
I'll flat out say it—this is the best porter I've come across in years. The flavors are deep, intense, complex, and well-balanced, and all the other aspects are on point as well. This is the kind of beer you keep a standing supply of in your fridge or grab without reservation en route to your buddy's place to watch the game or play poker. It falls somewhere on the spectrum between Zombie Monkie and Secret Stache—but possibly better than both. One of the more pleasant surprises in recent memory, to be sure.

Great name!
I’m a fan of hoppy porters normally, and I’ve grown into not so hoppy porters.
This beer checks a lot of marks for the hop/no hop tickers. Odd contrast indeed, but the body is so deliciously porter, and the aftermath brings a ? of hops?
Yes, I’ll have another
Cheers!

First off, the absolute best beer name in history, especially coming from a big city where pigeons are freaking everywhere. It's a good beer, maybe a bit more roasty bitter than I would usually prefer. A bit on the cold-brew coffee side, bitterness definitely lingers. A little smoother on the malts and it would be perfect. Higher abv makes this one dangerously tasty, can hardly taste the alcohol at all. Order another.

Canned 9/19/16; drank 10/14/16 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE tan head (careful pouring); thick, frothy lace.
Sweet cocoa, fresh earth & black coffee notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Black coffee, caramel & cream flavors up front; mild hop bite on the finish. No booze heat.
A nice enough porter, only marred by the extra hop bite that American breweries are compelled to add.

Very solid porter, a little on the hoppy side though. Would definitely seek this out again.

On-draught @ Beermiscuous.
Terrific classic Porter with an American hop profile shaking things up.
Chocolatey with roasty bitterness. Very balanced. Full-bodied and thick.
Bests Black Butte Porter, which is saying something.
