One of the best DIPA's with tropical fruit I've had

Pours a sunny, yellow amber.

Oh my, I could just live in the aroma of this beer. Sweet, hoppy, tropical. I love balanced beers and Rip Current hit the mark perfectly. More please!

The trend at Rip Current seems to be using hops of a tropical aroma nature, but also balancing things with West Coast attributes we've come to expect and love such as citrus and pine. The question remained, until now, how they would apply this to a big fat Double IPA with over 10% alcohol? The answer is a delicious one. Beer pours blonde, with only a bit of white head, which is fine as per the style. The beer rests full bodied in the mouth, making for a sipper, but the slight head present from the alcohol immediately is over-whelmed by tastes of citrus, passion fruit, and pine, finishing mostly dry with a subordinate malt backbone, which nonetheless allows the hops to shine foremost. This is another home run to me. Call it a homer vote, but this beer is great!
