Tan head with lace. Black color.

The cherry and sea salt are very enjoyable in this stout. It tastes like of dessert like without being too sweet. Light roasted malts with coffee and chocolate.

Medium to full bodied. Smooth and creamy. Enjoyable.

A 330ml can with a BB of May 2018 (canned Feb 2018). ABV is stated as 8.6%. Acquired recently from Trembling Madness in York. The label calls it Double Neck Oil and mentions that it was originally brewed for Beavertown's 4th birthday.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. Can-conditioned. A bright, hazy amber colour with plentiful floating sediment and intense carbonation. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of overwhelmingly fruity hops with hints of grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, light resin, white grape, subtle grass/hay, ale yeast, pale malt and mild earthiness. Insanely hoppy - superb.

T: Tastes of amazingly intense fruity hops with notes of grapefruit, zesty citrus, peel, tropical fruit, white grape, mild pine resin, dank weed, light grass/hay, ale yeast, rich pale malt and subtle earthiness. Pretty dry, followed by a powerful hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and great body. Highly astringent; hop oils stimulate the palate and numb the tastebuds. Aftertaste of intensely bitter aromatic hops, citrus, peel, pine resin, weed, tropical fruit, earthy yeast and rich malt.

O: Simply superb. Crammed with hops yet still achieves a pleasant balance with the malt and yeast. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are amazingly fruity. Lovely smooth body. A top-notch effort from Beavertown - if you love hops then seek this one out.

Almost clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has a clean malt sweetness with citrusy hops on top and a hint of honey. Taste is quite malty, slighty sweet at first, not too intense on the hops, some dry bitterness on the finish. Medium body, soft on the palate. ABV is hidden really well making for a really easy drinking DIPA.

Pours a light gold, straw coloration with a small/medium, fizzy head. Smell is quite hoppy, with light biscuity malt coming through and notes of citrus and tropical fruit: grapefruit, tangerine, mango, guava. Taste follows the nose, being quite hoppy, but with a decent amount of biscuity malt as well. Notes of citrus/tropical fruit: Grapefruit, tangerine, mango, guava, with a certain grassy dankness and a little booze coming through as well. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some more booze coming through. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This is a pretty nice DIPA with a good balance, but the flavours seem a little too artificial and boozy. Still drinks pleasantly enough.
