Canned in a crafty can, sure I reviewed this before but I can see that this is the first review in more than four months that the disdain is clearly showing
Pours a fairly clear light wheat coloured body with decent white head that is quickly dissipated
Aroma is citra
There’s hops, there’s a sulphurous snatch but the balance is gone

Poured from can into tulip, good 2+ finger cream colored head, good retention and lacing. Pale golden in the glass, good bit of chill haze. First thing that stands out is the smell, immediately reminds me of Lil Sumpin' Easy, so checked and sure enough there is Ekuanot here. Good nose, some malt coming thru (2.5 months on can) getting peach, pineapple, lemon and citrus. Taste is initially malt sweetness, citrus, pineapple, earthy floral notes, a slight dankness which might be due to the age. There is a good firm bitterness that makes it easy to come back to. Mouthfeel is good, little on the light side, but not bad, doesn't feel heavy for 6.7%. Glad this made it in my suitcase for the trip home.

Bottle Date: 8/3/18
Palate Contaminants: other beer

Look is a light, clear gold. Not a whole lot of head, yet what's there does leave a reasonable bit of lacing.

Smell is light honey after it warms up, but there's virtually nothing when it's cold. I can maybe make out something that's like cottage cheese and pineapple.

Taste confirms the cottage cheese and pineapple, but there's also some non-sweet white grapefruit. Bitterness is slight. Some moss and lemongrass. Honey malt as it warms up.

For whatever reason, the weight is medium-heavy. Carbonation is a little coarse with a swish around the mouth. Moderate alcohol presence.

330ml can. Pale, light bodied, moderately hopped, easy-drinking, American-style IPA. Fruity nose. Tropical fruit & barley water flavours. Moderate to light bitterness with a long, dry finish. The 6.7% alcohol is well hidden.

Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow with a nice white head.
Nicely hoppy this IPA could be mistaken with a nice pale ale. The hopiness is there but few bitterness is noted. Notes of citrus, pine, flowers and watermelon are present. Quite drinkable stuff

Cool name that shows attention from hopheads.
Slightly hazy amber color with a thick head with decent retention.
Mild aroma with notes of passion fruit, oranges, lychees, malt sweetness and lemon.
Flavor with notes of pine, honey, spices, mango, lychees, lemon and slightly toasted malts. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 6.7% is well disguised.
Nice brew. The faint nose didn't announce the flavorful American IPA that resulted to be. Traditional recipe well executed.

Cloudy dark yellow appearance with scents of pineapple and mild assortment of citrusy fruits. The flavour was of citrus, orange and tropical fruits which left a very more bitter than sweet taste which was still enjoyable. Good and slightly heavier carbonation. The ABV is a little too much to balance the flavour in my experience yet I was able to enjoy a full can. Impressive overall with flavour, smell and artwork.

A 330ml can with a BB of Aug 2017. Acquired recently from Trembling Madness in York. The label mentions that it is unfiltered. The can art is awesome.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. A bright golden hue with faint haze and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a thin surface layer. Nice lacing.

S: Aroma of fruity, herby hops with hints of grapefruit, lemon zest, citrus peel, subtle grape, grass/hay, mild spice, earthy yeast and pale malt. Hop-forward yet balanced - nice.

T: Tastes of zealously aromatic hops with notes of citrus peel, zest, mild grapefruit, a hint of melon, grass/hay, herbs, earthy yeast, subtle pale malt and a touch of grain. Dry, with a powerful hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Hop oils tickle the palate. Aftertaste of grass/hay, herbs, light citrus zest, earthy yeast and pale malt.

O: Excellent - a crisp, balanced IPA that delivers a solid hop payload without overkill. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are dominated by citrus notes, grassiness and a robust bitterness. Good body; a shade thin for the strength. A very drinkable IPA that works its magic effortlessly. Well worth sampling.

Pours a hazy yellow colour with a finger of head. Mango, grapefruit and bitter hops on the nose. Grapefruit up-front on the tongue, with hints of mango, followed by pine and a hoppy bitterness. A dry finish. Very drinkable and quite deceptive; the alcohol is very well disguised.

Solid England brewed IPA. Very hoppy. Floral and earthy. Grapefruit citrus. Very Amercan like. Bready malts. Fairly bitter and sticky. Medium bodied. One of the better Brittish brewed IPAs I've tried.

A very mellow hop-filled IPA. It has a cloudy off yellow appearance and subtle nose. It has a long satisfying taste with a bit of mango thrown in as well as the expected grapefruit. It has a lingering dry after-taste and gives the impression of a pretty good session IPA despite the 6.7% ABV.

I can see how the colour and soft nose might put some off, but ultimately a very drinkable IPA. Fair warning though: I found it easy to forget and think I was quaffing a 4% pale Ale due to the mellowness of this one.

CAN
Hazy lemon yellow with leggy can pour white foam. 4
Pineapple and papaya but also a bit of mustiness. 3.75
Thread of cracker, then a whack of sugared grapefruit, kumquat, white pine, and muskmelon hops. Pineapple and basil to finish. 4
Crisp, oily, just past light. 4

Mid-December BBD in early October - 3 months out? The can does say to drink fresh, which is encouraging. Wisp of malts, juicy, all fruit, so trendy, bla, bla. Smooth, not overly bitter, 6.7% is a strong-but-not-silly ABV. Lovely and all but doesn’t seem to justify the exhaustive recipe design that the blurb talks about.

And I’m sorry, but there are a 100 IPAs in the States that are “good but not awesome” like this, and most of them are $5 a 660ml bomber, not €4 a 330ml can. 4

330ml Can from Good Spirits Co Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£2.70):
This one was a really nice offering from Beavertown, definitely up there with their best & a welcome turn around from their Stingy Jack that I tried last. The beer opened with a lot of bitter hops and pine, both of which continued throughout & were joined by some tropical fruits & citrus. The beer proved to be a very easy one to drink despite the relatively high abv. & the huge amounts of bitterness; it's also a beer I can definitely see myself having again in the near future.

Slightly cloudy yellow color with slightly off-white head. Aroma has a nice, classic west coast hop profile with grass, flowers, slightly dank and piney. Taste has lots of hop resin, really "green" and grassy but it's not too bitter, quite mellow actually. Body is quite light and well carbonated. Really easy drink and fresh for its ABV.

Can pour into 2/3 pint glass.

An astonishingly disconcerting luminous yellow. Those who have been alarmed when going for a pee after copious amounts of vitamin supplements will be familiar with the hue. Seriously funky aroma. Dank and herbal, a bit overly so for me. Taste is a more refined take on the smell. Mouthfeel is pleasant, soft for the style. Overall, not quite my bag but, hey it went down ok. Cheers!
