just a perfect go to for Bosque, awesome Citra aroma, huge grapefruit/pineapple combo with a nice touch of hop bitterness to remind you that its New Mexico and we hop the shit out of our beers. I drink this stuff like water, so crushable.

On tap at the brewery. Pale ale that focuses on the Citra, mild astringency, soft tartness. Pretty straightforward for an APA. Showcases the hops well.

On tap at the brewery. This is the first beer brewed by John Bullard, who came from Blue Corn's brewery to lead the show at Bosque. The beer is a single malt and single hop beer (citra, as the name suggests).
The beer arrives in a pint glass and is clearly unfiltered, looking cloudy with a golden haze color that is reminiscent of a hefe. It's got a finger-thick head that quickly dissipates, but it leaves plenty of lacing.
Citrus is the word as far as my nose can tell. I get some grapefruit. There's a robust hop presence and a sweet malt aroma.
It's quite hoppy for a pale ale, dank and citrusy. I taste some grapefruit peel and the zest that I associate with that. Thanks to a good malt profile adding some sweetness, the bitterness is held at bay until the finish. With the medium body, this beer drinks very easy and is quite refreshing (particularly after nine miles on a bike).
I enjoyed this beer and feel it's a strong first brew and a good indicator of greater things coming from Bullard and Bosque.
