Pours light orange.. light head and semi-sticky lacing. Aroma is WTH? 1st whiff.. soapy, lemon. Subsequent aroma's are all over the place. Tropical, citrusy, lemon, earthy. Taste is pretty much married to stone fruit, with a lemon back taste. I got a couple of honey bursts here and there. Oily as well. Smooth, light light bitterness, medium MF. Very good tasting, and changing tastes during warm up. TBH, this was.. and was not, an odd tasting beer. Loved it!

Pours a hazy light orange, with fine, soft foam.

Smell is juicy and dank with notes of melon, mango and tangerine.

Taste is juicy and intense. Dank notes of honeydew mix with grapefruit, grapes, oranges and a moderate bitterness with some bite to it.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft, pillowy and well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice Vermont style IPA.

16 ounce can in an IPA glass.

Pale and unfiltered yellow orange colored brew topped with 2-plus F of white froth. The cap retains well and leaves some spot and splash lacing.

Citrus forward aroma. Tangerine, lemon, orange variant. Dry biscuit malt and some underlying stone fruit.

Mixed bag of citrus; orange, lemon, lime. There's candied sweetness and a bit of melon.

Medium body and hop bitterness. Borders on syrupy yet stops short of too sweet and too juicy.

Laid back hoppy IPA that's drinks nicely.

Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a fairly well retained one inch white head that left blotchy lacing. Smells of citrus fruit, melon and some malt. Tastes of mandarin orange, orange peel, lemon, cantaloupe, apricot and a touch of sweet malts. Medium bodied and carbonation, light bitterness, very easy drinking beer.

A: Poured from the can into a Palm tulip. Body is slightly murky yellow - with chunks of sediment in suspension - with a 1-finger, tight-bubbled head on top.

S: Nice nose, albeit not a terribly strong one, with ripe peaches, apricot, clementine oranges and citrus peel.

T: Modestly citrusy hops, with oranges, grapefruit peel and a touch of lemon and lime. Ripe canteloupe and a touch of apricot. Good balance between sweet and bitter.

M: Drinks lighter than it feels; or maybe it feels lighter than it drinks. Soft, fine carbonation. An easy drinker.

O: The overall impression I get is "soft." This is not an in-your-face IPA, but it wins points with subtlety.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that left patches of bubbles covering most of the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberries and grapefruit are present in the nose. The gooseberries become stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste has flavors of gooseberries along with notes of limes and a light amount of bitterness. The gooseberry flavors linger on into the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really liked the aromas and flavors of gooseberries in this IPA. It was also easy to drink and wasn't that bitter at all.

16 oz can poured into nonic pint.

A: Small right looking creamy white head that settles to a film. Body is a hazy light orange leaning toward gold.

S: lots of grass, lemon, and light cantaloupe with a solid malt and resin smell. Slightly floral.

T: lots of grass and light cantaloupe and a decent bit of bitterness. This beer has a clingy feel a little floral.

M: Medium bodied leaning toward full and lots of cling on the finish.

O: It’s an ok beer, surprised by the amount of bitterness. I wish the Citra hops came across as more fruity than grassy and floral.

Pours very hazy gold color with a bright white colored 2 finger foamy head that was full of bubbles, fading very slowly and leaving decent spotty lacing.

Smells of lemon zest, orange peel, faint grapefruit, lime, piney hops, biscuit, wheat crackers, malt or grains and then a wet cardboard finish. I expected some stronger hoppy notes since it was dry hopped, but it seemed muted.

Tastes brings some of the floral hop notes I expected in the nose, with earthy aspects like tea leaf and coriander to go along with the citrus hops. Seems sweet but the peppery spices help add some balance with the citrus flavors like lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, lime and then some caramel, graham cracker and toasted grains. Pretty good balance here.

Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth, with an average level of bitterness, a medium body and a semi-dry citrus finish that is mostly lemon zest but with some biscuit or toasted grains as well. Overall a good IPA, just not as hoppy as expected.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a semi-hazy bronzed orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. Messy stringy lacing roams around the glass nicely. The smell had a sweet grassy to citrus sweet hops grabbing a light pine to integrate nicely. Decent floral tones back up as well. The taste took the sweet blend of citrus to grassy and allowed a gentle underneath of bitterness, fairly low. A light sweet sticky citrus aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation comes across nice - fairly smooth. Bitterness is once again fairly tame as it hits my tongue. Overall, as an AIPA, it’s sweeter than some. Still, I actually didn’t mind a tame AIPA. I’d probably have it again.

Poured into snifter from large bomber bottle. Good light amber color, clear with good head retention. This beer had some strong bitter hops flavor in the nose but was surprisingly sweet and citrus-y when tasted. A welcome surprise and very enjoyable. Smooth mouthfeel. I enjoyed this beer and would gladly have it again.

Hazy brew and overall nice beer. Had this bottle before getting into another beer from Foley's lineup, Prospect. In comparison Prospect was hoppier and fruiter, whereas Citrennial had this lovely bright middle but the finish left much to be desired. It was a bit peaty and dry in contrast to the fruitier and raw hoppiness of Prospect.

It was still a very nice IPA, but was at least 5-10 points lower than Prospect on a scale of 100.

22 oz. bottle

Pours hazy gold with a dense creamy white foam head. Smells floral, peppery, tea-like with biscuity caramelized malt, melon, peach, apricot, papaya, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes spicy, peppery, floral, tea-like, with some melon, apricot, mango, papaya, peach, orange, grapefruit, biscuity caramely malt, and dank earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, smooth and creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice IPA with some almost witbier or saison-esque spice qualities to it.

Bottle from the beverage warehouse in winooski vermont for around $8. It's good but a little unrefined. I expected more from these guys. I wouldn't pick this up again. Actually tastes a little like a Belgian ipa.

This one pours a nice dark orange-ish color, with a large foamy white head, and lots of lacing.

Smells like...well, Citra, of course, with cat piss, orange, grapefruit, and orange, with a curious clove/yeasty aroma as well.

There's definitely something off and unintended about this one, as it has a very clovey, yeasty, and estery finish. This can't be intended- it tastes like a saison, instead of an IPA. The hop character is admittedly pretty good- lots of Citra, orange, grapefruit, etc, plus the classic cat piss, with a definite grassy bitterness. The yeasty finish is real tought to get by, though. I'm a bit disappointed in this one.

This has a juicy mouthfeel, but with an off putting finish, due to the issues described above.

From an undated 22 oz bottle, pours a moderately hazy golden orange. A finger of foam leaves an initial ring then streaky, spotty lacing. Smell is primarily grassy, lemony citrus. There's also a spicy herbal note, like eucalyptus, and also cloves. The taste is the same, with the clove note dominating and making it taste almost like a Belgian. Not bad, but I'm guessing the phenolic clove thing is not intentional. Loved Prospect, but this one has issues. Still, a decent drinker.

I love pretty much everything from Foley Brothers and Citrennial is no exception. Pours a golden orange color with a decent white head. A little hazy, but not too extreme. Aroma is juicy. Oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, and some dankness. Similar aroma to most citra hopped beers. Taste is very similar to the nose. Lots of citrus fruits with that dankness. Almost drinks like a IIPA. A subtle sweetness in the background balances the moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side for an IPA. Overall, another standout beer from The Foley Brothers.

A: Pours a reasonably hazy orange goldenrod color with lots of visible carbonation, a tiny powdering of a head within a few seconds.

S: Aromas of a slightly chalky dry ipa. Mainly pine resin and caramel malt.

T: Lots of piney resin off the bat. The Centennial is hitting hard there and the Citra hops give a nice aroma to complement the centennial hops. Midway through the first pour, the beer has settled some and still is very dry, but the caramel flavors are more pronounced than at first when my tastebuds are overwhelmed with evergreen tree.

M: Medium body with a good level of carbonation.

O: Overall another very good offering from Foley Brothers. I would probably prefer this to Maiden but would love to try them next to each other. Perhaps it is the strong Centennial hopping that I have not had in a while that makes me enjoy this one more than all of the citra offerings I have been tasting.

This beer drinks bigger than it is. Tasting blind might convince one they are having a double IPA. It's not hugely malty but there's definitely a more substantial and mouth coating feel to this one than your run of the mill IPA. Alcohol notes are expressed rather than hidden. Big citrus aromas of grapefruit peel and orange peel. Bitterness is medium to strong depending on your level of sensitivity. Fruit aromas are of the post ripe kind of stinky variety. Some resinous evergreen character as well. Again for a regular IPA this beer is no joke. I like what Foley does and this is worth trying, but a 16 oz pour might be a few ounces more than most folks need. Luckily I was given a 12 which seems just right.

L-Slightly hazy and golden pour leads to a white 1 1/2 finger head. The head recedes to a thing film and the lacing is spotty.
S- The aroma is all citrus which you would expect from a IPA brewed with Citra and Centennial.
T- The citrusy flavor is of the sweeter variety. I wanna say peach, tangerine, and or/papaya. There is a solid level of bitterness. More than most straight Citra IPA's, I'd hazard that would be the centennial influence.
F-Carbonation is prickly and lightens up the mouthfeel to something slightly less than medium.
O- This is a very solid IPA. Not surprising since Foley Bros does some excellent IPA's. This isn't anywhere near as good as Prospect however. It seems to be more readily available and is a more than acceptable alternative if Prospect or Pieces of Eight are not available.

hazy golden orange color, couple fingers of head and pretty lacing.

has some light citrus and tropical fruits on the nose - getting pineapple, melons, orange rind... and some nice piney notes in there. scent is pretty great.

taste is citrus up front followed by sweetish malts and hop resins. hardly any bitterness on this, and im also picking up a somewhat offputting taste.

overall seems like it has potential... it looked and smelled great, but the taste was lacking in my opinion. perhaps I had an older bottle? couldnt find a date anywhere.
