This is absolutely incredible. Amazing amount of citrus, stone fruits, waves of hops with just a touch of sweet malt that throws some balance into the fold. Extremely drinkable for the ABV as well. This blew my mind. Another great DIPA coming out of VT.

This medium-pale golden-bodied ale is lightly hazed and topped with a frothy white head that left messy lace lingering behind... Features Citra and Galaxy hops... Lots of fruit impressions, from grapefruit to pineapple, (white) grape to dank lemon, all present on the nose and palate... Managing to be more bitter than sweet, it has a tautness that grips the tongue and leaves a bitter coat behind, but a sweetness that creeps back in on the finish... Smooth and about medium-weight, with moderate carbonation. I liked it more the more I drank it... This was a real winner. Ink smudge on the bottom of the can reveals nothing, but from their Facebook page, I think this was a 9/25/17 canning...

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a thin white head. A lot of mango, citrus and pine on the nose. Flavor of tropical fruit, pine, citrus, lemon and grapefruit. Nice mouthfeel and crisp finish. One of the best Imperials I’ve had.

Consumed 1/11/16

A: Golden orange tangerine with some honey around the edges - lightly hazy, not cloudy - pours with a medium sized, frothy, white head, quickly fades to a wispy cap, retains a small collar, leaves spots and streaks of lacing

S: Galaxy and Citra, we meet again - very hoppy, as one would hope - bright orange, tangerine, and grapefruit flesh, juice, and zest - ripe peach - tropical notes, with mango and passion fruit - some leafy, resinous, oily hops - hints of pine and earth - fresh-cut green onion and hints of white wine - malts are undetectable, as is the alcohol

T: Dangerously drinkable hop juice - tangerine, orange, and grapefruit, juice, flesh, zest, oil - lightly herbal and spicy, with straight-up hop resin - touch of sticky pine - touch of green onion - mango and passion fruit - moderate bitterness - lightly earthy - pale malts with hints of light bread and crackers - some alcohol heat, but it's mostly balanced by the hop assault

M: Medium body, low carbonation, slick and lightly oily, and a sensation I would describe as lightly watery, but I get this from everything Foley Bros makes (not sure why at the moment)

O: I vote to patch in this prospect

I bought this beer because someone described it to me as "godly." I would not put it on that tier, but it's definitely solid. The alcohol could be a touch lower, and the mouthfeel seems a little off, but I am still pleased. If you like Foley Brothers, this is worth seeking out.

Update: 2/19/18
Drinking a fresh can. Unsurprisingly, this is still great. The mouthfeel seems better than I remember, but the amount of alcohol in the aroma and taste seems a bit more than I remember. I've bumped down the taste and bumped up the feel slightly.

Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange color with a medium pure white head. Some decent lacing is left around the top of the glass.

The aroma is quite pronounced, and has a nice balance of citrus and pine, as well as some light grassy tones. I find myself smelling my glass just as often as I take a sip. The aroma on this one is excellent.

The taste is very citrus-forward with notes of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. The light, cracker malt provides a nice backbone as well. Some slight bitterness on the end but this is definitely a sweeter DIPA.

The feel is medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Very smooth drinking with just a faint hint of alcohol on the tongue.

This is my first beer from Foley Brothers. I've been hearing a lot of hype about them and if they continue to brew great beers like this they will definitely start making a name for themselves in the Vermont beer scene, if they haven't already.

Pours a cloudy pale gold in color with a nice finger and a half of head. Little in the way of lacing or retention, but damn that haze looks good.

Smell is pineapple and citrus dominant.

Taste continues the nose, with tropical and citrus up front, followed by a nice mild malt.

Medium body and mild prickly carbonation, and a nice mild bitter finish.

This is simply put a fantastic beer. The citrus and tropicals are just so tasty. I'd drink this until my head fell off.

When talking about top Vermont breweries, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's Finest Liquids, and The Alchemist are always in the discussion. I've always thought Foley Brothers should be included in that discussion. When talking about best IIPA's, I think Prospect should be in the discussion. It's a phenomenal brew.

It's a light golden color with a little haze. As far as New England IIPA's go, it's on the clear side. Carbonation is a little light with a non-aggressive pour. Aroma is of citrus fruit juice, some tropical, and some dankness as well. Similar scent to many other citra hopped beers. Taste is juice, juice, juice. I would say moderate bitterness that lingers a bit. Taste also resembles candied fruits. Overall, the body seems a little lighter than you would expect for such a big beer. Unbelievable that this beer is 9% ABV!

Overall, I consider Prospect as a top Vermont IIPA for sure. It delivers on all of the elements I look for in this style. I guess maybe I should be happy that the Foley Brothers beers are somewhat overlooked, because I have no problem picking them up on a regular basis and I never have to stand in line. Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay a premium for such an awesome beer!

22 oz. bottle

Pours hazy golden amber with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like peaches, grapefruit, orange, pineapple, papaya, guava, mango, passionfruit, some bready caramel malts, with floral earthy herbal grass and dank spicy woodsy pine. Tastes slightly bitter and oniony with dank spicy woodsy pine, peaches, grapefruit, orange citrus, pineapple, papaya, guava, mango, passionfruit, mild bready caramel malts, some cilantro, and floral earthy herbal grass. Feels medium bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a real nice double IPA.

This is a tremendous brew from the folks at Foley Brothers. I bought 4 bottles and wish I had bought 6. It literally tasted better with each subsequent bottle so I am wondering if letting it sit helps it? Anyway, GREAT beer. Cant believe it isn't rated higher.

This light golden colored beauty is a wonderful addition to the already bolstered line up of masterly crafted IPAs that Foley Brothers offers. The journey from Burlington was well worth my time and effort. The nose is very reminiscent of their Pieces of Eight, with a malty sweetness accompanied by a hop aroma that is both fruity and pungeant. I often found myself baffled by the taste of this masterpiece. Although Foley Brothers may not have written the book on how to craft the perfect IPA their dedication to writing a radical chapter within its pages is quite apparent with this, the latest offering from what seems to be THE best micro-brewery in the state right now. "Prospect" should bea readily viewed as a proverbial hoisting of a boom box by a brewery that is ready and able to take the craft beer world by storm. To Pat and Dan (head brewers), keep it up!

Pours into an imperial pint glass a deeply hazed orange infused lighter golden with a thinner but retentive white head, alot of chunkies and floaties.A mix of citrus fruits and fresh mown grass in the nose, very bright and inviting.A sweet citrus smash on the palate, orange, and tangerine really hit home with a sugary sweetness in the finish. This is pure sweet hop juice,I'am getting the full effect of NE IPA's this week and lovin it.

Bomber bottle...label tells me "drink this beer fresh" but neglects to provide any freshness info/bottling date.

Pours typical almond Amber, medium hazed, deranged lite khaki cap. Leaves a nice looking fine film, and very fine sheeting. Quality look to this one.

Sniff reveals light grapefruit

Densely flavorful DIPA, waves of grapefruit and hoppy goodness. Ample maple malt underbelly balancing things out....quality/super tasty/go get some

Poured from the large format bottle into a snifter, this is one hazy brew! Glad to see Foley Brothers stepping up to the plate (and actually coming to CT!)

Big hoppy brew on the aroma, lots of sweetness. Flavor is more balanced, little bit of sweet malt upfront, but a wave of citrus and slightly tropical hops follow it closely. Good bitterness and resin notes on the backend, slightly sticky.

Awesome beer, super surprised by this especially since I simply yanked it off the shelf of my local store. Will definitely seek out more.
