"A medium hopped, copper colored ale brewed in celebration of the world famous corkscrew turns at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca."
$4 bomber from Bottles N' Bins in Monterey, CA. Into a pilsner flute it pours a saturated golden orange. Lots of rapid upward rising bubbles, looks like champagne carbonation. Lasting foam and halos of lacing that look nice enough.
Smell is bland, sweet honeyed malt, soggy wet grains. First whiff was a little skunky like lightstruck hops, then there was no trace of hops present whatsoever in the smell or taste. This really seems more like a generic American Amber than anything.
Flavors of graham cracker, honey, wet barley. A little swilly and vaguely metallic. No hop flavor, little bitterness. Light bodied, well carbonated. Pretty average beer all around, although it looked nice at first.

Picked up a bomber while visiting Monterey, CA. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I brought it along to an Asian BOYB restaurant and had it with my sushi.
Corkscrew Ale turned out to be a very pleasant and drinkable bitter, a great surprise as I love session beer. It was on the American end of the bitter style, with a little cleaner earthy citrus hops and toasty bread with a hint of cookie. I wish I'd brought more of this back with me from California.

"A great "session beer". Even though this is going to be my only beer of the night, I wuld like to see an ABV listed, because the "session beer" has no definate meaning in American beer culture. Not even the volume is listed (though I assume it's 22 ounces). Ok, on to the beer:
Now there's something the bottle did describe, a copper colored beer. This beer is indeed copper colored, and features small bubbles rising through the body. The head is okay, whispy, solid stick around the glass. The nose is soft, so inhale carefully. There are little notes of biscuit, toffee, and honey gently arising. Fine, as long as the taste is more intense.
A little more intense, yet realtively subtle. Little flavors dance around the palate. Notes such as citrus, honey, biscuit, pine. The hops slowly creep in and more and more flavor, yet remaining very well balanced. THe body is light with agreeable carbonation, its drinkability high, and overall a likeable bitter.

Coppery color in the wine glass with a nice off-white head, though it dissipates before too long. Authentic-seeming English flavor of hard water with a hint of sulphur. Just a hint of beery aroma.
Quite an interesting flavor of a style not so often encountered. Some roasted flavor, but mostly a lot of bread and biscuit with a scratchy hint of hops. Slightly woody. Pleasant and drinkable. Not much bitterness at all.
Purchased at Bruno's Market and Deli in the 22 oz bottle. Took the label photo.

Smell- sweet malt mostly
Taste- mostly malt flavor, some honey as well
Mouthfeel- light to medium bodied
Drinkability- I thought it was pretty good but not great. Kinda average I would say
