Just happen to find the Station while we were shopping in the area. It sits off the road behind the BBQ restaurant. A small sign cought my eye, "Need a Beer?". ..ya i do!!
Small but very nice with a few hi-top tables, at least 20 beers on tap.
Its not a bar so no TV or loud music.... Just beer and lots of it.
Saw most of the big named crafts like Stone and Founders but what i was after was a good selection of local Tennessee brews.
A good selection indeed in 6 packs, on tap or a build your own from singles.
Glad i stopped. Bought 2 6ers and a growler for home.

Love this place. Easy, laid back. A bit removed from time -- no tv, music, just timeless. Went two days and all staff were friendly, knowledge, enthusiastic about beer. Spent a good amount of time helping me pick out some local brews to take home. A mom with a stroller, a group of young guys, middle aged folks...so unlike a bar atmosphere -- Great beer vibe. Decent selection -- some small brewery bottles were over six months old which I was surprised to find. Could improve by posing reviews of beers to help selection, but then you wouldn't get to ask the beer dudes who seemed happy and able to answer. Will go back for sure next time I am in Nashville.

I stopped in at The Filling Station mainly because it's right next to my favorite BBQ spot, Edley's; but I didn't have any growlers with me to get some fresh beer, and I didn't really have the money to buy any rare beers. Beyond those two things, what I was looking for were local oddities but I didn't really find anything I couldn't get just as easily anywhere else.

I was only in the store a few moments before I was approached and asked if I needed help finding anything, and when I said "Not really, I'm just looking" I was given a quick verbal layout of the store, so I guess that's good service.

There were a few items that caught my eye, and I probably would have picked up at least a bottle or two, but to be honest it was really busy at that point and kind of packed (it's not that big of a place) so I just got out of there. I think it was the day before Easter, which probably explains that (seemed like a gaggle of about 8 to 10 women who were holding things up), and I don't think they're normally crowded to the point that browsing is difficult.

My wife has another conference in Nashville in a few months so I'll probably go with her, and hopefully, make another stop and post an update.

This is a nice, friendly small shop. Their growler selection is comparable to the best spots in Nashville, and their prices are very reasonable. The help is very friendly, and their bottle selection is pretty good as well. Not the best shop in town, but a very solid place to get some great craft brews.

Small beer store located adjacent to Edly's BBQ...

The atmosphere is good - they've got a pretty small place (the former Halycon Bike Shop location), but it is organized well, with a section for the taps, a corner with several shelves of bottled/canned brews and a wall with empty growlers to select from. The logo design and signage are very attractive. The main draw-back is that there's not a lot of parking, but that's pretty typical for businesses in that neighborhood.

I haven't opened the growler I purchased yet, so I can't speak too much on quality, although I do really like the fact they will swap your used growler for a clean one they have on the shelf -- I've never been to a place that does this and think its a great idea!

Service was great; the owner and manager were very helpful and discussed some of their current offerings with me. Selection is very good as far as growler places go -- usually you only have 4 or 5 selections at a beer store but they have 24 kegs on tap to choose from! Also a plus is that they're good at keeping their tap list available on social media so you know what's there ahead of time before you go. I didn't pay too much attention to the bottles and cans they had but it looked like a good mix of choices from a quick glance. Another bonus is that they offer both 32 oz. and 64 oz. growlers.

Food isn't an option in the store, although the guys there said they were thinking of maybe selling some local snack type food in the future. You can't drink inside the Filling Station, so I don't see the lack of food as a drawback.

Pricing for the growler fills seemed pretty much on par with other local growler spots. I didn't look at the prices they had on 6-packs or mix packs.

Overall, even though the store is small I think they've set up a great operation that's pretty unique for Nashville.
