Fun place located just off Canal Park in Duluth. Lots of brick, exposed ductwork and an old tin ceiling with tons of beer signs on the walls. Petty typical these days.
Really good tap selection with plenty of local beers.
Service was excellent and prices seem on par.
We only had a couple of food items, but it was very good.
Worth a visit.

I've been to 7 West twice on visits to Duluth, and I've been quite happy both times.

There are 40 taps plus 3 nitro selections. The beer selection is varied, and very well thought out. There are several Duluth beers (Borealis, Bent Paddle, Castle Danger, e.g.), more beers from MN and Wisconsin, and more from further afield. Prices are good. The 4 x 5 ounce tasters for $7.50 is a nice offering.

It's a small place, one long bar, and a row of tables, and a few TVs.

The food at 7 West is as good as the beer, and much much better than in most beer geek bars. The menu isn't broad, mostly burgers and tacos, but the variations are creative and the preparation is really well done. The kitchen knows what they are doing.

I was lucky to find two open chairs at the bar last night (Friday). It is a very relaxing atmosphere. There is a wall of 40 different beers on tap. A lot of local brews including Bent Paddle and Surly. It was hard for me what to choose for my two beer flights. Angry orchard on tap made my wife happy. You can even buy a bottle of Borealis. The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to.

Now on to the food. It was honestly some of the best bar food I have had. And you can't beat the price. You have to get the beer cheese wontons. We even had apple fritters for desert.

I am happy this is so close to my house so I can keep coming back often. Great place with great selection.
