pours a cloudy, bright copper with a medium head that hangs around for a bit. nose; oak, sweet whiskey, nectarine, ethanol, & light raspberry. taste; sweet bready malt, belgian beer yeast, banana, apricot, lemongrass, vanilla, ethanol, & loads of sweet bourbon & oak on the end. medium carbonation & mouthfeel. the abv shows its weight but isn't hot enough to be a minus. the barrel-aging is unmistakable here and makes this a great sipper. we need to see more belgians & saisons in barrels!

This bourbon barrel aged began style ale was suggested as a drink for a cold winter day, but I enjoyed it on a hot summer evening. AT 10% all by volume, this is a sipper that lasted me quite a while. I would like to try it again on that suggested cold winter day.

Pours into a stemmed glass a dull medium golden with a fluffy bone white head that leaves broken 'globs' of lace behind as it settles into a frothy mass.Toast and vanilla stand out most in the nose,I do get a hint of yeasty spice.Full on vanilla upfront on the palate than mild white pepper-like spice along with some pear, the toasty flavors come more into play as it warms. Not overly complex but a nice warming barrel aged golden ale.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a snifter.

This clear ale is light amber in color and covered by a good head.

The aroma suggests wood and light fruit, and these appear clearly in the flavor as well. ABV not as well hidden as hoped.

Near medium body with medium carbonation.
