Bottle from Whole Foods. Black pour, small beige head. Kind of clumpy. Aroma picks up as it warms, like the label says, French Toast. Vanilla first, some cinnamon, some maple. Taste leans towards the sweet, kind of slippery. Taste pales after the aroma, but is still good. Roast grains pretty well hidden in there.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: With an aggressive pour, a large, fluffy off-white head. Body is very dark brown but has some deep ruby translucence.
Smell: Roasted malt, a bit of cinnamon, a bit of maple sweetness. Nothing special.
Taste: Roasted grain, vanilla overtones. No real cinnamon or maple flavor. As a standalone vanilla stout it would be OK, but for a French toast-flavored 8.8% ABV imperial, it's disappointing. Not a very strong depth of flavor.
Feel: Fairly light-bodied with moderate carb. Smooth finish.

The picture here is very outdated, so I'm not altogether sure I've got the right beer... but here we go:
Appearance:
Beautiful, impenetrable darkness hued by a dying ember of ruby red. The resultant foam is a perfectly level horizon of browned cream.
Bouquet:
A gentle cascade of vanilla, cold cinnamon, and malts steeped in maple syrup.
Feel:
A silk sheet with a hot tingle of cinnamon rolls over the tongue in this medium-bodied magic. Carbonation is lively, but quiet and concise. Elegant.
Taste:
Cakey stout malts imbued with vanilla whipped cream, dunked hastily in maple syrup, and given a tactful dusting of dry cinnamon. Its more stout than sweet, but finishes with a long, maple-cinnamon linger that steers it back to the sugary side, striking an incredible balance between the two.
Overall:
It’s as though the stout plays the role of the thick, toast slice while the accompanying flavors act as the toppings. Truly captivates the essence of real French toast in a well-rounded imperial stout.

Rich and smooth, reddish mahogany while pouring, and black in a PBGC Crispy Boi glass. The head is light chestnut, reaching one-half inch before quickly settling, leaving an uninterrupted coat of fine lace.
The aroma opens with sweet maple syrup followed by vanilla and a light sensation of Play-Doh. This does, indeed, smell like French Toast. Warmth brings out light cinnamon.
The flavor is more Stout than French Toast, which is good. Vanilla takes the lead, with maple syrup following. Overall, it is more bitter than sweet. The long, mild finish reverses that balance to more sweet.
A medium body with a scratchy, nylon texture. Alcohol is about as expected. Fine carbonation keeps tingling, even after the finish.
This is a good beer, though not really something I tend to seek out. It lacks a wow factor, but is still a solid Stout.

Beautiful, dark color. Syrup on the nose. I wanted an even fuller mouthfeel to match the rich flavors but I get why they kept the finish cleaner and lighter, more like a porter.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter glass, giving just a bit of tan head that faded soon. Deep brown/black color. Smell is malty, maple syrup, and a tiny hint of cinnamon. Taste is more maple forward with cinnamon at the end, not too sweet. Similar to French toast, but not quite identical, but very good. Thankfully not too sweet. Somewhat thin mouthfeel, with light carbonation. Excellent stout, especially if you like cinnamon.

12 oz bottle in winter variety pack. Poured into Trillum Six States glass.
Definitely lacking the nose and taste of the aged bourbon barrel variety. You do get some sweetness and malts, very faint maple and cinnamon. It' s a bit thin, but ABV is hidden nicely, as with all of these. Just needs more taste.
