Appearance: a light orange color. A small white head that fades quickly and leaves nothing behind. Hazy and half way between clear and opaque.

Smell: does a great job at capturing a cucumber smell. Very subtle. But does remind me of cucumbers. Lots of herbs and gin spicing in the back. Juniper is present. But everything else is very subtle and blends well.

Taste: opens up with wood, juniper and other gin-esque flavors. A slight bite of alcohol. Ends with a juicy bite of a cucumber.

Mouthfeel: almost light and refreshing but strong and astringent at the same time. Leaves behind a herby, alcohol taste

Overall: amazing beer. Perfectly captures a cucumber and gives of the strength and character of gin. And everything blends perfectly together. A great tasty, strong and unique brew.

A: pours a clear orange with a finger of white head that fades into a frothy layer with decent lacing.

S: sweet cucumbers and watermelon dominate here with a bit of fir-like gin aroma.

T: cucumber and watermelon here as well with candy sugar, a bit of clove, and a light yeast bitterness. A warming gin flavor brings up the finish with a slight alcohol presence.

M: medium body with lowish carbonation, this beer is fairly drinkable for its abv, though just avoids being watery.

O: an enjoyable beer overall. The gin, cucumber, and watermelon work together nicely, creating a unique and tasty beer.

On tap at WW 05/2014

Appearance: Dark Blonde, more clear than cloudy. Minimal head

Smell: A little barnyard but mostly GIN and cucumber

Taste: GIN is heavy but blends nicely with the style and cucumber notes. The hops, basil and gin make this beer better than the original. I would have never expected these ingredients to mix come together as well as they did. Unique, original, fantastic.

Mouthfeel: It was getting late and my palette was not in the best shape but crisp and dry for the most part

Overall: WW goes where no brewry has gone before....again... and knocks it outa the park. Please bottle this.

The beer that's as cool as a cucumber heats up with an imperial status and the power to boot, and with greater body and a boost of spice. Coolcumber's big brother certainly pick up where the standard-strength ale leaves off.

Bright gold and with a modest haze, Imperial Coolcumber's light and fluffy froth expels the same vivid cucumber, mint and juniper notes as the original, but its added honey notes and pronounced gin-like spruciness begins to steal the show.

Its rich fruit flavors carry the mellow character of honeydew with a light drizzle of honey. Its floral upstart soon turns herbal and grassy with the strong taste of caprese and greek salad conjure a Mediterranean fare. Seemingly parsley and cilantro carry a hoppy tone into a closing spicy taste of gin-and-tonic.

Medium-full and leaving a trail of honey and lightly toasted grain in its wake, the beer trends semi-dry with all of the bright and wonderful flavors of the garden well represented. Then the bitter, spicy and floral taste of wintergreen come out as the juniper flavors and alcohol close the session simply and succinct. But it turns out that the amplified flavors and strength that turns this ale into an imperialized one detracts slightly from the original's superb drinkability and herbal simplicity.

A lovely shade of orange in the glass. Smallish head. Hazy appearance. Garnished with a cucumber slice of course.
Aroma is interesting to say the least. Green "gin like" flavors along with cucumber and a whiff of alcohol.
Taste is a bit of a muddle for me. I detected quite a bit of alcohol heat that I felt detracted from the other flavors. There is some cucumber flavor but it is not prominent. The gin barrel aging makes its presence known but I don't really care for the flavor it creates in combination with the base beer. Honestly difficult to drink for me.

I could imagine that some people will enjoy this as it is no doubt a well made product (like everything from Wicked Weed really) but I personally did not. To me it lacks the refreshing quality that the standard Coolcumber had and the flavors just aren't in harmony. Worth a try though.

Had on tap at the brewery. Interesting concept. I'm sure that they nailed it, but it would be a drain pour for me. Smells like cucumber, tastes like cucumber water.
