poured from a bottle into a tulip glass.

L: rather pale and hazy
S: the smell of passionfruit was hardly detectable at first, but came out as the beer warmed a bit.
T: subtle fruit, but the salt is there.
F: thin, watery
O: in all, not an overbearing flavor, not as immediately assertive as other beers from Wicked Weed, but certainly fine for an undemanding midsummer refreshment.

On-tap 6/26/2016 at Flynn’s in Mansfield, MA, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy light yellow color, with a thin white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains wheat, citrus and light malts.

T: The taste starts out with a strong burst of citrus tartness. Then some mild breadiness comes in from wheat and a thin malt character. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly tart.

M: Smooth and very crisp, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not filling at all, very mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

12/29...pours pale dull mustard yellow with no foam. Some bubble activity but otherwise still. Very slight fruit nose, almost no aroma. Slight fruit backed sour, passion fruit comes through.

Pale straw color with a nice white head that doesn't linger. Smells like passion fruit (as advertised), tart, wheat, lemon and slightly sweet. The taste is refreshing and tart with a tiny bit of saltiness. There are flavors like passionfruit, lemon, yeast and hay.

While the gose style has its origins in northern Germany, it has been transplanted and now takes on a tropical persona with not only salt and citrusy coriander, but this time with the tangy and teeth-churning succulence of passionfruit.

Tropic Most Gose pours with a strong haze embedded in a canary-yellow brightness. An arid and cottony froth mounts as sourness and light pungency spill over. While its early sour brunt is smoothened by the soft pillowy action of wheat and dough, a taste of childhood sweetheart and pez begin to resonate.

But the ale's acidity blossoms across the middle and as the sugar cookie malts retreat. Rising sourness is piquant, poignant and squarely focused on natural lemon and lime with dry passionfruit for an exotic guava-like twist. While a waft of burlap and damp balsa offer a light and earthy aura, its rounded saline taste and perfumy coriander balance against the beer's premiere acidic flavors.

Dry and creamy, the wheat never surrenders as it makes a return visit in finish and aftertaste and buffers the tongue from the lactic acidity and sharp fruit sourness. The salty influence brightens the taste and gives the mouth a salivating yet drying sensation that makes for an ale meant for an extremely high rate of consumption.

@ Ridgewood

Foggy yellow-straw color under a fat head of fluffy white froth that sticks well and leaves some great lacing. Smells of passion fruit, salty ocean air, light wheat, and lemon. Pretty simple flavor comprised of tart passion fruit, light salt, and lingering wheaty grain. Pretty thin and dry, but not as puckering as some takes on the style. Quite refreshing - light and straightforward.

Enjoyed 1/2-pint at the brewpub. The menu reports this to be the second version of this beer, this time with passion fruit and 3.40 ABV. A nice addition to Wicked Weed's outstanding sour lineup.
