Very openly knit bright white head, big pour that disappears immediately and leaves barely a dusting across the surface, no lacing. No visible sediment but it’s filmy nonetheless, the liquid a flat yellow to orange rust water color, solid storm of muscular bubbles scattered throughout, looks somewhat dilute. The nose has the de rigueur sourness and barrel treatment is quite evident, heavily yeasty in a sur lie manner, pineapple, papaya and star fruit scents, tart mixed white citrus, undercurrent of herbal leafiness, light pepperiness, at times smells like it might referment in your glass. Medium-bodied, initially sweeter than expected with more round juiciness to the grapefruit, blood orange citrus as well as pineapple, green apple, star fruit flavors. Very prickly carbonation has it churning up the tongue. The oak makes a big power move through the mid-palate with butterscotch, toffee flavors adding more sweetness and also sticking out awkwardly as well. The yeastiness consistently palpable and can now and then give it a more bready character. It often feels disjointed but also has sufficient ebullience to win you over in the end.

From bottle dated 11/2015. looks good, minimal head, honey color, clear with lots of bubbles. Smells funky with some sweetness. Tastes very light and dry with just enough sour tartness. very dry. Great stuff.

Bottle into a snifter appears a clear copper color with a white cap that is quick to fade.

The aroma is vinous with some sulfur and stank cheesiness. The brew is tart tasting, lemony lactic with a pleasant vinous appeal and some cheese and sulfur just like the nose indicated.

A light bodied brew with modest carbonation. Pretty easy to throw back and not bad at all.

Fizzes like a soda from the bottle as it's poured, the head disappearing by the time you're ready to lift it to your lips. So much yeast that it smells like fresh dough in a glass as you begin to drink it. When you first sip the sour holds off as malts dominate before the sourness really kicks in. In your mouth this beer is very mellow but heavily carbonated with plenty of fizz as you swish it around. Great beer, supporting a great cause.

Conflict of Interest: Author works for the Autism Society of North Carolina and may be biased towards a beer which was brewed specifically to support it's work with individuals on the spectrum and their families!

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled Nov 6th 2015.

Deep lemon and fairly clear bodied, with nice amounts of plentiful carbonation. Head creation is pretty minimal, but just manages a fine collar and a good black hole whisp in the center puck. Real nice clarity and impressive looking, maybe a green hue hinting here as well. Neat looking and a bit surprisingly visually.

Aroma has nice subtleties, a doughy pils like malt quality followed my a mild acidity on the nose. Slightly tart lemon, very light sensing lacto like qualities but with a thicker malt presence. Comes up like a doughy thicker gose. Very nice.

Palate sticks to basics. Thick malt depth with a chewy quality and nearly bakery quality. Malt angle takes well as the forefront to a nice mild funk. Sweet malt finish, with less sensing fruit popping esters. Mild sensing orange to grapefruit sweetness interestingly in the mid palate. Aftertaste is a little numbing slightly with an almost pasty quality.

Fun mix up from the gang at Wicked Weed. Comes off almost like a big doughy wild.

Very similar to Russian River Beatification in my opinion, very well done, but honestly somewhat one dimensional for my taste. Beat fans my apologies.

Looks like liquid gold in a glass. Hosts a short off white head that turns to a consistent skim in a minute or so. Nose is a nicely hopped funk with pixy sticks and dry white fruit. Taste is evenly tart on the initial sip with zesty funk. This is followed by a white grape body that is dry and fruit skin driven. Overall very solid and incredibly drinkable brew.

Look- golden yellow with 1/2 inch head that fades away. Smell- just like a WW sour but with some oaky presence. Taste- funk, tart, vanilla, woody, lightly fruited. Feel- sharp, little dry, effervescent. Overall- wish I bought more than three bottles, the complexity of the "selected barrels" is awesome; these guys really know there stuff Asheville residents are lucky!
