Appalachia is a very approachable, yet super-punchy Session IPA that features Motueka, Citra, and Mosaic hops. A portion of proceeds from this beer will be donated to Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy.

Just a clean session IPA. No frills just good stuff from first pour to last drop in glass. Clear with tiny head. Nose is wine like, taste is clean and slightly bitter.

Drinking beer and saving the planet in a single sip, Wicked Weed is paving the way for both with a portion of their proceeds going to Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. But fueled with the hops of Motueka, Citra, and Mosaic, it's a sure bet that we'll have more than just one sip.
Appalachia get going with basic gold, light amber pour. Building a light and lofty froth, the scent soon billows over with a soft citrus perfume laced with botanicals, light tropical fruit and a fresh grassy scent. Sweeter though upon its first sip, the early impressions of honey, crackers, bread crust and their associated scant sweetness.
The malt impressions fade quickly and the hops rise in taste as the ale approaches middle palate, A collection of citrus fruits share pink grapefruit, lime, lemon and orange- all seeming in their younger and more under ripened form. In similar form, tropical flavors of passionfruit, papaya and mango bridge the gap into suggestions of currant, apple and white grape before tuning bitter with sassafras, green tea, verbena, lemongrass and fresh spruce.
Light, crisp and refreshing, the beer takes a slight back seat on flavor intensity in order to provide dryness, crispness and cleanliness for an ultimate thirst quencher with still remarkable flavor.

On tap at sticks and stones into pint glass. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, berries, lemon, lime, wood, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, light toast, herbal, floral, grass. Moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light to medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins in the mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness after the finish, no astringency. Not overly aggressive. No complaints. Great Motueka, Citra, and Mosaic profile. Very vibrant, dank, and fairly juicy hops; with a clean malt backbone.

As far as IPAs are concerned, this one’s pretty much middle-of-the-road. Nothing about this stands out to me, it was still enjoyable, definitely sessionable, just not special.
