Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

This place is great! A buddy and I dropped by after a visit to Jester King Brewery a few weeks ago. Got there around 4pm on a Saturday. Not totally packed at that time (went back that night and found it difficult to get a seat)

Love the outdoor seating. Bench tables lined up in several rows...great place to people watch and just chat with strangers. I gotta say the beer selection was phenominal. A littl something for everyone. Was quite pleased to see Sculpin and Firestone Walker stuff on tap.

Waiters were knowledgeable and enthusiastic to talk with customers about the beer and food. Just an overall pleasing vibe here without beeing pretentious.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I loved this place! Fun place, excellent, very knowledgeable service - first rate.

The food was fun and delicious. Poutine, good poutine, in Austin, TX! Sausages were excellent and diverse.

Excellent selection of first rate beers, especially if you like Deschutes Abyss and Black Butte. Several vintages each of these, on tap!

Definitely a beer destination in the capital of Texas!

Cool vibe. Definitely a party vibe. Even on a Sunday night when I was there. A hundred beers on tap (at least it seemed) organized by style. A great variety. The food was awesome. I had some poutine and a rabbit sausage that were both to die for. Definitely would return for excellent food, and a very good beer selection.

 

 

 

 

 

Cool place with awesome varieties of sausage and well selected tap list (over100). Great vibe. Would go back for beer or food in an instant.

 

Really good sausages and a equally good beer selection! We enjoyed sitting outside with our dog (who enjoyed a Wolfwurst did sausage) It's kinda like the Texas Rosamonde

Visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Sat at the bar. Not crowded early but things picked up as the night wore on.

V - Not much of a beer vibe unless you are sitting at the bar and with the right bartender you can have a great "beer time." Otherwise it's just a good restaurant the serves a great selection of beer. 3.5

Q - Served in the proper glassware. Lots of taps so some beers may lanquish. All taps cleaned over a two week period. 4.5.

Ser - Great service at the bar, which can suffer a bit when it gets busy in the restaurant. Knowledgeable bartenders who are willing to talk beer when they have the time. 4.5

Sel - A fantastic selection for both Texas and the US. Don't come if you are looking for international beers. 4.5

F - If you don't know already, all the entres are sausage, even the one name "fried chicken!" 4.25



F - everything is a sausage. Remember that before you ask a question or order a dish. 4.25

Taplist of 100+ craft beers, ranging in style from lighter pilsners to BA stouts. Nearly everything one could want for beer is available at this spot. Bar seating could use a little more space. Service and glassware were spot on.

 

 

Great place with great food and a tremendous beer selection. Only minuses are the fact that its always beyond crowded (understandable, as it is such a great place) and parking in that area can be a major PIA.

 

 

 

 

Not too often that I love a place just as much or more for the food than the beer, but this place qualifies. The sausages here are nothing short of spectacular. Incredibly tasty and unforgettable.

And the beer selection is obscene. So many to chose from. This place always seems to have Yellow Rose on tap and that's a huge plus. But their selection literally runs the gamut and will have something in just about every style and they helpfully organize them. Check the bottle selection too for some gems, especially the Bishop's Barrel beers.

The outdoor biergarten is awesome too.

This place is located away from the normal 6th Street scene (about 15-20 minute walk from there). It has a really great selection of beer (roughly 100 taps) and it was my favorite place for beer selection in Austin. If you go early in the day, you'll really enjoy yourself more and the staff are well informed about the different beers they have.

Definitely recommend.

Live music! Accessible! Great tap list and homemade sausages. Unbeatable combo. Taps and bottles listed by style, menu made for easy navigation. Big covered outdoor beer garden. Overall size made service a bit slow, but still good al around

 

 

 

 

Stopped by here during SXSW 2015. Enjoyed sausages, a few beers from the wide selection on the menu, oh and I might have ate an entire order of fried cheese curds. Service was acceptable. Come for the beer!
