Notes: As the big brother to the Stinger IPA and the little brother to the Stung IIPA, Middle Child takes cues from both of them. Middle Child inspires to one day be just like Stung and as such a bit of honey is added to this beer along with an unreasonable amount of both American and New Zealand hops creating a beer with a strong bitterness that is packed with citrus, pine, and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. A touch of caramel malty sweetness helps to balance out this big, bold IIPA and create a surprisingly drinkable beer.

Had on tap. Pours clear, dark amber in color with minimal head. Taste is pine, orange rind, and light toasted malt. Very hoppy with medium heavy body. Slightly above average. Could have this one again or just as easily pass over it.

As I'm drinking this, I'm wondering where the hid the 9.5% ABV. Someone stole it. A fabulous, smooth DIPA. This one stands out in the Northeast craft brews production. It's like one of these things is not like the other. Doesn't have the tropical fruit explosion, but, it is there. A very well balanced brew and looking forward visiting their brewhouse soon.

This is a spectacular DIPA. Its brewed with honey which gives it a smoothness that isnt sweetly overpowering, masks the 9.5%, and leaves a crisp dry finish. The fruity tones of hops shine through perfectly as well. Standout DIPA. Cant wait to pick up a growler from Brian & Frank.

Number 3500!!! Not a huge milestone but still a big number to reach. I had another special beer lined up for this number, but it was so-so, and this beer blew us away! Growler filled a few days ago, and shared with rudzud!

Nice creamy head fades at a med pace, nice lacing, super hazy creamy orange red.

Nose explodes with fresh hops, aromatic, pungent little resinous, lots of citrus fruit, faint tropical papaya and touch of mango, little sweet candy malt base and faint faint booze.

Taste sweet malt base, nice hops, bit tropical papaya and guava like, little fruity stone like, little grassy and faint hop oil, big juicy generic fruit too, nice citrus and little dank resin. Finish mostly dry, no real alcohol, nice bitterness, great balance all around.

Mouth is med to fuller bod, nice carb, no real alcohol.

Overall awesome, a great dipa, great hops, great balance, nice malt base, alcohol is almost non existent, so tasty and enjoyable. Very well done guys!

Thanks to JLindros for sharing.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a glorious golden orange sunset with a nice one finger white head that fades to leave nice lacing.

S - Aromas of pungent dank wet hops, orange juice, tangerine peel, tropical papaya notes. Really bright!

T - Taste is similar to the nose, wonderful orange juice, citrus peel, great tropical notes, papaya, zero alcohol, which is crazy. Delicious

M - Mouthfeel is excellent, no alcohol, super balanced. Holy cow.

O - Overall this beer was excellent. Just wonderful. Super balanced, delicious.

Poured from a 500ml swing-top growler that was filled at the brewery the same day, into a US tumbler glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy golden brown color, with a short off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains a nice blend of floral hops, fruity citrus and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a strong piney hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty and provides an excellent balance. There is almost no hint of the 9.50% ABV. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Very tasty, goes down dangerously easy, not too filling, strong and well-disguised kick, excellent representation of style, this is a very good 2IPA worth drinking for as long as you can handle it.
