The wife and I were visiting a friend who lives nearby and stopped to check out downtown East Aurora first... beautiful little town and awesome bottle shop!

Rare and not-so-rare stuff from Mikkeller, De molen, Amager, Omnipollo, Prairie... tons of NY state beer and what I thought were reasonable prices (maybe coming from Philadelphia where bottle shops are overpriced).

Friendly folks and a bar with drafts and food that I will have to experience next time, plus a newly-opened basement bar with even more taps.

Great bottle shop and bar for the locals. The town seems really laid back and nice which sets the tone for this spot. Had Grimm on bottles that was delivered 4 days prior. Stuff usually sells out fast downtown, so it's nice to pick some up. I'd come stay in Aurora for the night just to soak in the town. Prices were a bit higher. Had some NFL game on the big screen when I was there.

I ended up in East Aurora and checked this place out on a whim. Selection was quite decent, I found some things I have never seen before and I will agree with what others have said the prices are rather high. There is a space filled with dirty glasses for sale that I was a little shocked about. I think they were charging around ten dollars for a very filthy looking Great Lakes snifter, pint glasses were very expensive as well. I did not have a very good experience with service, no one came up to me to see if I had any questions and the cashier seemed a little preoccupied talking to folks drinking at the bar. I am sure this is a nice place for regular locals but that's about it.

A previous reviewer indicated that this was a "Very cool place" & he was correct. This ain't your consumers beverage. Simply put this is the Village Beer Merchant with a pouring license. Lots of great beer, one guy working behind the tiny bar & one guy sitting at the bar who new everything about beer until I started asking questions-but there is one in every bar.. 5 tap selection was only OK. Organized, clean & tidy, BUT DARK.

Prices were a little high. Will be back if & when I get to EA but won't drive specifically to the place.

Very cool place. Heard some family members talk about this place. I'd consider it a medium sized store for the concept. Lots of great beer, with very little crap. Didn't look for it, but I didn't see any macro brews at all. One guy working was knowledgeable, talkative, and helpful.

Handful of taps for 5oz and 10oz servings, as well as growler fills. Well organized, very tidy, all around pretty good place.

Noticed one review mentioned high prices, but I noticed some products a little high while others were a little low. Id say they balance each other out pretty fairly. My only complaint, I'd like up to date "what's on tap " either on facebook or a website.

In my opinion, great store! Highly recommended!

For a $1 they'll let you open bottles in the store and drink at their bar.
Staff seems to have a clue.
Gets the "rarer" releases in eventually.
Looking for something that likely everyone sold out of a while ago? They may have it but...
Super expensive on the limited releases. FW XVI $25 (compared to $19), BA Bigfoot $22(?) vs $18.

I like the concept and would even hang out there if it was a bit closer, but the prices keep me from making this a frequent stop unless I'm looking for somethign limited they like still have due to wallet rape.

A very nice little bar/ bottle shop in an area that really needed something like this. A bit of a drive if your coming from buffalo, but worth it as its really the only place of its kind in pretty much all of western New York, one that has beer to drink on site, or take home. Also located right next to Bar Bills Tavern which serves quite possibly the best roast beef sandwich in the area.

Only 5 taps which are available for growler fills or pints, but they usually are always filled with something tasty whether it be some good locals or widely popular micros. The bottle shop has a very nice selection including some special releases (bcbs, bourbon county coffee, founders bolt cutter are just a few I've found there). Everything is organized very nicely with ratings and descriptions for most bottles.

Amazing service. Employees are very knowledgable about beer and very helpful. The actual place isn't too big, a small bar that maybe seats about 5 or 6, several tables behind that. This takes up about the first 1/3 of the bar, the rest filled with shelves full of bottles. I was a bit surprised to see a decent little bottle collection up on the ledge full of some nice beers not available in this area (Pliny, dark lord, CCB, etc.).

Defiantly worth a visit if your in the area.
