I got this for 8 bucks for a 12 pack. It is pretty far past the best by date, but not toooo bad in flavor. Not a session beer due to the rich/sweet flavor. I won't buy it again......hopefully my wife will like it and help with this 12 pack. Maybe I should try it after dinner...not such a good idea trying it on a hot summer day.

2009 backlog. 12 oz bottle. Very faint aroma of clove, cinnamon. Mostly, it smells like mass-produced swill. Pours deep amber, nice head, nice lacing. Flavors are as described on the label. Kind of watery. This year’s version is better than the last few. This one at least has some pumpkin pie attributes. For the past few years, those flavors were MIA.

Bought a 12-pack from the local liquor store. I guess the store bought a large amount of these, since I bought this in Mid-January, and couldn't resist a 12-pack priced at $6.99 HA HA!

Beer smell is definitely pumpkin spice on the open bottle. Taste of Blue Moon is mostly masked by the mixing of the pumpkin spice in this beer, it can almost be overpowering sweetness some mouthfuls and others it is much better masked however. The thing that is consistent is the sweetness from start all the way to the finish, beer is a little dry but carbonation is pretty good. No Alcohol taste is present either.

This beer is okay. If I can get it at the ridiculously cheap price of 6.99 a 12-pack, sure I'd buy it again. But at the regular price of Blue Moon, no thank you, I'd rather drink the original Blue Moon or something else.

Good-looking beer. Just pumpkin orange-y-er than amber, just cloudier than clear, just bubblier than average, and a decent head that hangs around and remains as a solid cap after a reasonably aggressive pour. On the nose, they do a good job of the traditional pumpkin pie spices: clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, but on the back end, you also notice the clear artificial canned-y nature of the pumpkin base. Taste is more balanced, but also underwhelming. Plenty of malty body, and there's nothing skunky about the flavor, but there's nothing that brings me screaming back, either. No detectable hops. Mouthfeel is pretty good, and I like the sharpness of the carbonation, but there is something slick and artificial about what happens on the back end. Overall, it's not awful if you need to say you were drinking a pumpkin, but not worth chasing, either.

Poured at a slightly warmer temperature into a beer glass...

Appearance - Pours a thick, beautiful head with high carbonation and a dark-amber color.

Smell - Smells of sweet wheat/grain. Mellow hops.

Taste - Right off the bat, I can sense a bitter taste, followed by a dry sweetness. I honestly cannot taste the "pumpkin" spice for the life of me. But the beer is surprisingly balanced for it being 5.7% ABV.

Mouthfeel - Thick, plentiful, and satisfying.

Overall - If the beer was sweeter and less bitter, I would have given this rating a five. Also, it would have helped (maybe) if this beer would have tasted a little like pumpkin. But I don't discredit this beer for not tasting like pumpkin... I don't mind a little false-advertisement as long as the beer tastes GOOD.

12oz bottle poured into a pint

A- pours clear Amber color with a creamy white head that has good retention

S- smells of pumpkin pie; cinnamon & nutmeg up front, and it actually has the pumpkin aroma that most beers lack, even a bit of vanilla cream and pie crust

T- unfortunately taste doesn't follow aroma; it's fairly muted up front and drinks more like an amber ale, mid palate give a hint if pumpkin flesh and caramel sweetness, the finish gives hints if nutmeg and cinnamon

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish

O- middle of the road pumpkin beer, I wish it tasted like it smelled
