L: Great golden color with a little bit of haze to it. Small bit of white head.
S: An amazing mix of a nice whole wheat bread with a bit of mango fruitiness to it.
T: The taste is great and is like how you would think, the mango blends nicely with the wheat but I wish it had a little more flavor to it; its a little light.
F: Super light and a good amount of carbonation.
O: Wouldn't order at the bar but this is by far one of the most refreshing beers to have outside in the summer or on the porch.

This is an excellent summer wheat beer that is pleasantly flavored with mango. It has a cloudy appearance common to Blue Moon and is fairly light on the nose aside from some fruity, juicy notes. It tastes strongly of Mango, citrus, fruit juice, and wheat, and leaves a pleasant residual aftertaste that is not cloyingly sweet. It gets a bit thin in body toward the end and the intense fruit flavors noticeably subside. Overall it is an easy drinking wheat beer that beats any run of the mill pilsener on a hot day.

Poured it into a glass and I’m getting a whiff of mango every so often. Somewhat hazy and golden with a decent white head, looks pretty decent. Scent is 90% mango like maybe 10% wheat in the back. Flavor is decent if not a bit “watered down” with mango and an ok wheat note through the finish. This beer could benefit from increased carbonation in my opinion.

Underwhelming, first beer wasn’t bad though. The taste got old and the mango flavor just felt fake and or off. Can be a decent brew for the right day.

Bluemoon is one of my favorite beers and the mango one is very good to get a very strong powerful mango aroma and the mango flavor is not very overwhelming either but is present.

Very cloudy golden color. Some visible particulate floaters. Finger and a half of a pillow soft soapy white head. Look at that while typing my head has died down to just a light topper for the beer.

Smell is very candy like mango. Kind of like the dried mango strips in a bag from Costco. That is fresh mango but they do add a lot of sugar to it.

On the flavor you do get some nice mango. Not as sweet as on the nose but definitely more sweet than the natural fruit. The typical wheat beer base comes in at the back of the taste to pull some of the sweetness away and almost uses that bit of grainy taste to pull the flavor back to a natural mango.

Mouth feel is a wheat beer. And by that I mean you get all the good flavors and beer up front and then the body builds to more of a medium feel. The finish does have a slight slickness but is just there and gone.

Overall this beer is all good with me and may be the one for you. I only go 3.5 overall for a few reasons. The more I sip the more artificial the mango seems. I mean if you like a lot of mango or a little try it and see what you think. I like mango just for the record. Another reason would be that I think they tried. And by that I think they just tried adding some mango to a Blue Moon. Is that a bad thing? Well, in all reality no. Would I rather drink a Blue Moon? Probably. For all that, Cheers to Coors for this tasty beer and Cheers to my BA friends!

335 ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Stars vs. Maple Leafs on the television.

Fun fact: This is the first beer I've reviewed on Beer Advocate. Howdy!

Look: Hazy orange in color with a decent head.

Smell: Mango Grove with hints of wheat. Very enjoyable nose.

Taste: Holy moly that's a lot of mango! To me it's not an intense artificial smell that you can get from macro beers. Toward the end it got really bitter and there were some funky Campari-like notes.

Feel: Good body and nice mouthfeel. Sorta got light to the end. This beer took a funky twist toward the end.

Overall: For what it is, it is a decent beer. I don't know how often I'm out for mango style beers, but this is a decent get if you like it.

Light and refreshing, the mango is strong but the grainy wheatiness was more dominant. Like many fruited beers the fruit is more of a candied artificial mango than a juicy flavor. Overall not bad, but lacking complexity. I won’t be buying this again.

Taste follows the nose. Definitely mango forward.
Mouth feel is light medium.
Overall, okay. I would not order in a bar.

Smell is mango.
Taste is mango wheat and sweetness.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with alright carbonation. Finish is lightly dry and sweet.
Overall a tasty fruit beer. One is enough for me.

Mango Wheat pours a cloudy bronze color, with no head. Big fresh mango aromas. Flavor is big and sweet, lots and lots of mango, with a slightly bitter and tart finish. Good body and feel. Overall, lots of fruit in this one, mild strangeness near the end.

Can: Poured a hazy blonde color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of sweet wheat malt with some mango juice is enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by sweet wheat malt with some fresh mango juice is refreshing. Body is about average with good carbonation. Sure this is a bit fake and overly sweet but still refreshing.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for just under $3 CDN.

Appearance - Very hazy mango orange colored brew. A decent two finger head is poured but fizzles out extremely quickly leaving not even a trace of lacing.

Smell - Quite intensely of ripe mango, too much so to be naturally brewed without additives, however the mango itself is quite appetizing.

Taste - Sweet as hell. Overly abundant inorganic mango sweetness. Some base wheat flavors in there too and then the mango sweetness comes back yet again. Almost as sweet as the diabetes inducing Ber-ita series of Malt Liquor from Bud Light than can barely be called "beer".

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied initially, but thin, there's not much substance here. Carbonation is alright.

Overall - Way too sweet, but if you like mangoes, I guess this fits the bill.

The pour is a murky light orange color with a head that dissipates rather quickly in the pint glass. The side of the label says that the beer is brewed with actual mango so I don't know why people are saying that this beer taste overly sweet & artificial because to me it does not. The aroma is sweet mango, I have eaten my share of mangos in my tims so i'm quite familiar with this aroma. The flavor is mango & wheat. The beer is sort of one dimensional but it's worth a shot if you've not had it already. It's not a mind blowing wheat beer but it's not as bad other people on this page are making it out to be. The date on the neck of the bottle indicates that i'm drinking this beer 10 days after the best by date & I still sort of like it. Cheers! B-

Soft. Fruity. Syrupy. Hints at what a wheat beer should be, but this is essentially the soulless macro approach in a can. Patio grade summer stuff, beer pop. Too sweet. Artificial in character. Nope it unless you need a notch in your beer belt.

Copper to gold to yellow and plenty murky in complexion. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering nearly all of the top. I think it smells very forward of artificial peaches. It tastes like artificial peaches and it burns the tongue in a concerning way on the way down. It’s very cloyingly sweet.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 23 2019 and served barely chilled. Labelled as "Belgian Moon" for the Canadian market.

Pours hazy and effervescent, with a golden-coloured body upon which an inch-thick crown of fluffy, sparkling white foam rests. A smooth cap and fat, foamy collar remain in place for the better part of ten minutes, with a generous coat of lace also being applied in the process; I don't usually go out of my way to flatter macro beers, but this one really does look gorgeous in a weizen glass. The aroma is mostly mango juice, with a muted grainy wheat malt presence being the only other aspect of note, save for a touch of indeterminate spiciness.

Very straightforward flavour: the mango is constantly there, drowning everything else out - and even though the ingredients list says 'mango puree' was used, it's used to such a degree that a cloying, artificial vibe is still the end result. The wheat malts provide a baseline bready, grainy sort of sweetness, but it's mostly just sweet mango, with suggestions of peach, and maybe a hint of cantaloupe in the aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with moderately assertive carbonation levels that start off crisp and prickly; smooth and somewhat slick-bodied, with fairly high drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.16, a C+. Belgian Moon Mango Wheat could've been worse - and in fact, before I opened the can, I was anticipating that it might be. The truth is that it's a serviceable macro wheat/fruit beer: nothing more, nothing less. It's one dimensional, and a little too sweet for my tastes, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be reasonably refreshing on a hot summer's day. Nothing special, but I'll channel Captain Obvious here and state that if you've got an affinity for mango then it'll still be worth sampling.

L: Pours copper in color. Unfiltered appearance but not hazy. Formed 2 fingers of a frothy offwhite cap that dissipated quickly. Moderate lacing on glass.
S: Mango galore. Mango is dominant aroma on nose, very sweet smelling. Can definitely tell it's a wheat beer.
T: Sweet mango fruit upfront and on the initial part of the finish. After taste is short and diminishes quickly.
F: Thin, light, watery. Carbonation moderate.
O: Enjoyable for what it is. The mango aroma is crazy pungent. I am enjoying this beer and am glad to have tried. Cheers!

I had such high hopes for this beer. Unfortunately, the fake mango flavor is far too pronounced for me. The aftertaste is particularly unpleasant. I like BM Belgian Wheat, but this? Is it even beer? What exactly is it?

It's a watered down wheat beer with apricot and artificial mango flavoring to provide a good enough nose and taste. I like mango so I don't mind the artificialness to it. Eh, it's Coors so keep that grain of salt in mind.

i tried to like this, i really did, but these flavored blue moon beers, at least the ones out in distribution, have gotten appreciably worse i feel like. this is pretty foul, over the top and artificial with the mango, not quite as absurdly intense as the pacific apricot one from the same box, which was straight perfume, but this is over flavored by any measure. i like mango, and i like that its identifiable in here, but it tastes like a mango candy or something. i do get some good fluffy fresh wheat malt in here which is nice, i like that it still tastes like beer underneath all the flavor, i have always respected blue moon and its variants for that, you can always taste the malt. some spice and minerals here too, desserty and kind of fake and cheap to me overall, and some interesting yeast as well. nice carbonation and body, but this is so overdone as to be a novelty to me, and i honestly didnt even finish the bottle. its a shame, because i think real mango in the right amount would play well in a base beer like this, but they missed the mark on this one. targeting a different demographic i think with this one...

The beer pours out a medium hazy dark golden color, with a thin white head------------ the aromas are of tart fresh mango(mango for days)---------------- the flavors start off with mango for days followed by wheat, light grass and floral notes, the beer has a medium mouthfeel with no bitterness at all----------------- overall this beer was good - I was impressed with this offering from blue moon, it was really a one dimensional beer with mango leading the way but it was light, juicy and refreshing, maybe the best blue moon I have tried yet

As a flavored wheat beer it's meh, but as a dessert beer, well, there's something there to hand your hat on...

Cloudy as most wheat beers, it had an appealing orange color even though there was little foam and no lacing to mention. The smell was sweet and definitely of mango, sweet, delicious mango - but not evenly blended with the wheat background as you would expect. Mouthfeel was smooth, lightly carbonated, and frankly a surprise as I usually find these macros overly carbonated for my taste. Taste-wise it was a full-flavored mango taste and like the smell it wasn't blended evenly, but it was sweet and definitely would work in my book as a dessert beer. Overall, it's a decent beer, not spectacular but certainly something to have on hand for an after dinner (or lunch) treat.
