Also known as Pale Moon at one time, this is another Coors attempt at a Belgian style under their semi-craft Blue Moon name. While not a bad brew by any means, this certainly has a "macro-feel" to it and is probably more suited to those just getting into the style.

Blue Moon Belgian Pale Ale pours a nice, semi-murky copper color with a finger and a half worth of cream colored head that lasts for about a minute and leaves some lacing. The aroma produced is of some light fruitiness (some banana comes to mind) and some citric hoppiness. There is a low-moderate amount of carbonation to the brew and it does have a bit of a smooth mouthfeel overall. The flavors within are mostly of some light, sweet grains (a bit fruity and nutty) and the citric hoppiness. I don't want to say it's watery (because it isn't), but the flavor is a bit mellow for the style. The malts linger on for just a tiny bit in the aftertaste, but the citrusy hops hold on for a little bit more and give the beer some dryness in the finish. The beer finishes out with some alcoholic warmth.

This is a beer that isn't exactly going to wow anyone, but it really isn't all that bad and would be a good craft beer to have on hand if you're expecting company and want to offer something a little bit different than your standard Big American 3.
