I picked up a Blue Moon variety pack to drink at a friend's party at the bodega near his apartment, where it seemed to be my best bet for my budget of $13 or less. In the pack, three were of the Rounder Belgian-Style Pale.

This pours a moderate brown color with no haze. Carbonation is rapid at first, with an active, white head that quickly dissipates with minimal lacing. Aroma is not particularly intriguing for an ale, with mostly malt notes. The first apparent flavor is soft sweetness with some wheat overtones, reminiscent of whole-grain bread. Round and floral in the middle with a weird dulce de leche tone coming through, but nothing particularly noteworthy beyond a slight expansion of the "bread" theme. Ends with a slight bitterness that is clean and refreshing but doesn't add much complexity. Carbonation dissipates quickly, and as someone who likes to take my time, I found that the drink was nearly flat within a half hour of pouring, and that the last ounce always seemed to be watery and gross. Overall, flavor was not unpleasant, but still one-dimensional.

I guess this is above par for a Coors brew, and was probably the best in the pack (compared with Summer Honey Wheat, Original, and the Pumpkin Ale) but I would not buy it again.

Very good! Loved it! Surprised I liked it so much! Not bitter smooth but flavorful! Didn't taste the orange! Which is good because I don't like orange beer!

Twelve ounce bottle freshness dated to August 19, 2013.

Sweet lemony scent. Pours a ruddy brown with thin small whitish non lasting head. No lacing of glass. Slightly spicy cinnamon and sweet taste. Candied sweet potato beer! Funky aftertaste. Smooth overall but lacking body.
