Killian's Irish Red is a traditional lager with an authentic Irish heritage, based on the Killian family's recipe created for the Killian's brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland in 1864. Coors acquired the rights to brew and market the product in America and Killian's was introduced to the U.S. in 1981.
Killian's Irish Red derives its distinctive red-amber color and taste from a special caramel malt that has been roasted at a high temperature longer and more slowly than most malts. There are no coloring agents or artificial additives used in brewing Killian's. The brew is known for its rich amber color and thick, creamy head. 14 IBUs

One of Coors better products. It seems like they do everything possible to dissuade you from believing this is a Coors product. The bottle says something about it originally being brewed by George Killian Lett in Enniscorthy, Ireland, and also mentions it is brewed under contract from Brasseries Pelforth, S.A. (I'm assuming its the brewery in Alsace-Lorraine, France). The dead givaway is the "Unibev Ltd., Golden, CO" on the side.
Enough of that, here's the review. Killian's pours a very nice see-thru reddish brown color with a decent cream color head which dissapears quicker than I thought it would. It has a nice roasted malt smell which is slightly sweet. The mouthfeel, while smooth was a little more watery than I was expecting. The roasted malt taste is the main focal point of this beer, even though it isn't overpowering. Notes of caramel and coffee present, and the slightly spicy hops balance it out decently. They also contribute a moderate dryness to the finish. The first few sips had left a slightly toasted bread-like aftertaste, but later on it was rather grainy and (gasp) adjuncty. Slight alcoholic warmth to finish it out.
This stuff is comparable to Michelob Amber Bock, as both are probably some of the best offerings of their respective companies, and share similar traits. I still feel the "macroness" about this beer, even though its probably a good gateway beer for swillers. Killian's offers nothing extraordinary, but is a decent drinkable beer.

Amber color , thin white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toast, hint of hops. Malty , bread, and caramel in taste. Light hoppy bitterness. Nothing special.

Have had this beer many times over the years and though it is more malt than hop flavored there are a few Red Ales that still adhere to not being NW Reds, which enjoy.

Reddish/Amber hue, nice looking foamy head, bready smell, and smooth taste save for its crisp aftertaste.

Looks: Looks very nice, a reddish amber color with bubbles rising up plentifully. Not much of a head, but that could be due to how I poured this beer. Looks great.
Smell: Smells great honestly. Pretty yeasty and malty smelling to me. This is the kind of smell I like in a beer.
Taste: Wow, this is a great flavor. The only other Irish Red I have ever had was McGuire's and this is almost as good as that. I'm loving the bready taste. A tad bitter, but not bad at all. Almost a tad happy kind of, but with the majority of that great aley, lagery kind of taste almost. I do love this flavor a lot. A bready aftertaste finishes it off.
Feel: Somewhat coarse, but it smooths out as you drink it. Goes down super easy. Sticks around in your mouth well. I really like this feel.
Overall: A great beer I'd happily purchase again. I think Irish Red is nearly taking the crown of lagers in my personal favorites. German beer, American beer, and Irish beer are my top 3 in general. Pretty great stuff.

This is my to go beer, taste is great for an American Red Ale, it is the closest to a Smithwick's.
Good first sip taste, excellent and refreshing aftertaste, not unbalanced, malted, crisp, and sweet.
I don't know if this beer is available in tap, it should because is a Coors product. But in bottle.

You never forget your first. Killlian’s was the first beer for me. It’s not the best value, the richest, or most delicious.
It’s a fairly standard well made beer with a little more dry and flavor than the other macros but that might be my rose tinted glasses.
Moving on is a part of life. A chance to discover new and better things, but never forget your roots. Thanks for starting this journey Killian’s.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date AUG1224".
APPEARANCE: pours a clear, brown color with one-finger tan head that slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, heavy lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.
SMELL: brown sugar and toasted bread.
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet brown sugar and toasted bread, there is a kiss of hops on the finish, the taste lingers.
PALATE: medium body, average carbonation.
OVERALL: I drank this 30 years ago before craft beer became a thing, I enjoyed the trip down memory lane but if I'm being honest it's nothing special, if you wanted something different than Miller, Coors or Budweiser back in the day it was this or imported beers, this beer has toasted malt and some some hops on the finish, you could do worse.

Clear autumn reddish-brown with a short and level but creamy tan head.
This is very much like a raisiny Melba toast with a little nutty but also herbal zip in the finish.
It's been years since I've had this, and for good reason.

12 oz bottle poured into a willi becher glass. This is much better than I would have expected coming from Coors. It has a nice toasty/caramel malt flavor along with hints of spicy/grassy hops. Not thin, IMO. No off flavors, no cardboard flavor, although I suspect the bottle is on the older side (I picked it up in a Wegman's mix-6). Maybe I was just in the mood for a red lager but I'm enjoying this quite a lot.

Bottle purchased and drank at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a light golden reddish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells fairly watery, with a touch of sweetness and breadiness.
This is certainly not bad, by any means, but there’s just not much to this one. It’s lightly bitter on the finish, with a watery but toasty malt character. There’s no off-flavors, but just not much flavor in general.
This is light bodied, watery, thin, and insufficient on the finish. It’s pretty drinkable, though.
This was a little bit better than I thought it would be, but it wasn’t necessarily good, either.
