Poured from a 16 oz. can into an imperial pint glass to make room for head, of which there was a big ol' foamy one that dissipated almost as quickly as a warm soda. Leftover lacing very minimal. Opaque, looking very much like an unfiltered cider.

Slight grassiness that I'm starting to expect in a lot of the fresh, regional beers (e.g. Treehouse, Winter Hill, Big Elm). Not my favorite characteristic in a brew, but it is backed by some hop funk to lend balance.

Taste is hard for me to distinguish from other Pale Ales I've had from Trillium, and again reminded me of a lot of the other P.A.s being put out by local breweries. That grassiness plays pretty strong up front, but back tongue gets coated with a familiar hop flair that sticks around long past the last sip.

Mouthfeel is my favorite part of this beer. Full but goes down easy. Makes for a very satisfying long pull.

Despite some conspicuously large flavors, this is very drinkable, which is probably due in part to the relatively modest ABV of 5.4%. They are playing fast and loose with the term "Pale Ale" here, but if you know Trillium, you know you aren't ordering a Bass. The name of the beer and the series ("Small BIrd Series"), as well as the art on the can made me smirk, but is creeping into weird beer hipster territory.

I am more than a little curious about Trillium's current approach of brewing MANY very similar beers with slightly different names. It kinda reminded me of the scene in the The Wire when they are talking about changing the the colors of the dope vial caps to help keep the junkies clamoring for the newest shit. I am pretty sure I wouldn't be able to tell I was drinking two different beers in a blind taste test between their various Street Series entries.

I enjoyed this one, but it's not as strong as their Saison and IPAs, so not sure I'll be going back for more. Definitely worth trying out if you get the chance!

The beer pours very little bubbly head that is white and dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a pale golden straw that is clear. The beer smell has a bitter grapefruit and pine smell with a bit of fruity sweetness. The taste is somewhat similar to the smell. Bitter and pine hops with a malty sweetness and a bit of fruity taste as well. The malt also has a slight bread flavor. The beer feel medium bodied but on the heavy side and biting carbonation. Overall, a pretty good beer and worth getting again.
