In the spirit of tenacity and camaraderie, Mettle was first created to highlight the milestone of our inaugural year as a brewery. With the intense dry-hop duo of Amarillo and Citra, this medium-bodied Double IPA beckons with aromatics of pineapple, mango, orange, and a hoppy dankness. A fusion of orange, melon, light pineapple, and a subtle pithiness round out the palate with a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. We continue to brew Mettle in recognition of our devoted following of hopheads that have supported us from the very beginning.
MALT: American 2-row Barley, Valley Danko Rye, Valley Triticale, Valley Wheat, Dextrine, Dextrose
HOPS: Amarillo, Citra, Columbus

Bottled 4/1/2016.
Appearance - The appearance is slightly hazy, definitely opaque but thinner around the edges where some light can poke through. It is a bright yellow in color, perhaps leaning more towards a dandelion or straw shade rather than a darker orange. An ivory head crests the beer composed of foamy, large bubbles that quickly and quietly wisp away.
Aroma - The nose is a playful combination between fruity and piney. At first, peach, mango, and orange come across like freshly-squeezed juice that lends a beautiful brightness to the beer. Shortly thereafter, a spicier pine note adds a counter that steers the aroma towards a slightly bitter note.
Taste - The flavor is much bolder than I anticipated from the somewhat airy, flowery aroma. The hops kick you in the teeth immediately with a one-two punch that wavers between the fruit and spice at once rather than a gradual transition. The effect is bracing but certainly an experience. The flavors are big and start with those ripe fruit notes. The orange and even nectarine is the most dominant and enjoyable. The hop bitterness couples with the spiciness from the hop to balance that out and rides into the finish.
Mouthfeel - The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with lower carbonation. The low level of carbonation is a double-edged sword; it doesn't detract from the beer but it does tend to make it a touch syrupy at times. A noticeable tingle is apparent in the cheeks after larger gulps as the hops infiltrate the palate.
Closing Arguments - Overall, another great beer from Trillium. A step down from Scaled Way Up, but there's no shame in that at all. So far, I've seen masterful hop integration with Trillium and hope that continues.

De Beerepublic.eu. en copa Teku. Jugando a Hogwarts Legacy. Con almendras. Dipa de perfil frutal agradable, algo resinoso, pero nada que justifique el hype ni el elevado precio de esta marca, al menos como llega aquí a España. Cualquier Soma está mucho mejor
