Notes: Following in the footsteps of our other “Street” IPA’s, Sleeper shares the same base grains while placing the unique El Dorado hop at center stage. Opaque orange-yellow in color with floral aromas of lime zest, grapefruit peel, pine sap, and candied orange. Juicy, hop-driven flavors of bright citrus, melon, and herbal pine are balanced with medium bitterness, fluffy mouthfeel, and dry finish.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, Dextrine, C-15

750ml brown bottle, sample purchased at store. Held bottle in personal fridge in hopes it would clear up a little bit.

Hazed out dull golden beige hue, sudsy lace from the wheat and dextrine. Big citrus in the nose with a botanical zest, evergreen, green tea, and cumquat nose. Mealy smooth mouthfeel, similar to a lot of beers from Trillium. Not clean. Grassy citrusy hop flavor meets a dry pulling flour-like finish. Honeydew rind, faint birch, dried grass, and a nutty yeast in the middle. The only thing that pops in this brew is the hop flavor but it gets muddled with the body and flour-like maltiness.

L- Brilliant, bright orange. Puffy white head. Looks great but less hazy than most Trillium I've had.

S- Floral and fruit. Tangerine, orange, grapefruit. Grass. Outstanding.

T- Jucy and a little more hop forward than most Trillim offerings. Flavored really opened up after warming just a bit out of the fridge.

F- Pretty thick for the style but very enjoyable. Coats the mouth.

O- Not one of my favorite T offerings but still really, really good.

I moved to the wrong coast.

Pours a subtly hazy light orange color with a 2-finger white head. Not a lot of retention but leaves a ton of spotted lacing. Not quite the "orange juice" appearance I'm used to from Trillium beers.

The aroma is very sweet. I get plenty of orange, and just a touch of pine. Some even more subtle notes of grapefruit can be detected as well.

The taste, like the aroma, is very sweet. So much sweet orange and tangerine, followed by some grapefruit and a touch of pineapple. There's a more subtle, bitter character from the piney hops hiding in the back. The hops are balanced out by a slightly sweet, slightly doughy malt character that provides the backbone to this brew.

The mouth is medium bodied with good carbonation. Very creamy, yet very dry and bitter on the back end. Has a nice, crisp quality to each sip.

Overall, Trillium does it again. I'm not sure I've had a hoppy beer of theirs that really takes too many risks, but despite this, they are always high quality and leave me coming back for more. Outside of the appearance, this beer is the definition of a New England IPA. It's juicy, sweet, with tons of fruity and floral notes throughout. Yet it still maintains that subtle piney bitterness that a good IPA would be truly lost without.

I just rhymed for some reason.

Another neat IPA from Trilium, Congress St was phenomenal, so hopefully this at least pulls it's weight. Filled last night.

Pours a nice fizzy slight creamy 1finger head that fades at a med rate, mostly smaller bubbles popping, nice notched rings of messy and soapy lacing, quite hazy tangerine orange beer with a big column of bubbles rising up from the bottom.

Nose is more of a traditional IPA, floral hops, a little pine note, some citrus and orange peel, mild spicy note, this seems more of a cascade centennial and other of the C's hops, touch of a grapefruit splash, and even a little pith. Then mild sweet malts, fairly basic malt aroma. As it goes and warms, I start to get some tangerine citrus, little clementine orange, and it just gets more citrusy and fruity.

Taste again comes on with the basic American IPA, floral zesty hops, with a little flowery hop note, but more citrus and fruit again. A little rind bitterness, some grapefruit pith, plenty of tangerine like juicy citrus and some straight up orange juice with pulp bitterness. hops get a little spicy towards the back end, and a touch of pine and earthy flavors. Malts are fluffy and a bit creamy, mild sweetness, little grainy and toasty blond malt like characters. I'm starting to get a little melon rind from the hops as well as it finishes, fairly dry but sticky finish, with a huge acceleration of bitterness as the hops just take off, lots more tangerine and orange juice, with more spicy hops really dominating for a long finish, and a faint booze warmth.

Mouth is med bod to a bit fuller bod, slight creamy and fluffy, decent carb, hint of booze warmth in the background.

Overall not bad, more traditional IPA, probably a lot of the C's style hops, cascade based hops, with some of the newer ones added to it, but not a ton of the highly sought after ones at least. Still pretty tasty and enjoyable, nice bitterness although gets a little rough on the finish.

Thanks Kevin for the generous set of Trillium brews as a Christmas time gift. Long days of work pair well with great MA IPAs.

A- Half of the 750ml bottle meets my snifter with a slightly hazy deep golden body. A crown builds up over a finger with a moderately thick creamy texture. Good head retention and plenty of thick sheets of lacing.

S- The aroma brings a medium strength dose of hops (relative to other comparable modern IPAs) with sweet melon and mellowed citrus zests, especially sweet oranges, leading the way. These hop tones open up to floral, pine, bready and caramel hints.

T- As one might expect from the aroma, hops dominate the flavor profile but definitely still allow some sweetness, caramel and bready malt flavors to peek through in the background. Hops here scream orange and tangerine with a moderate backing from melon, grapefruit and apricot and more distant floral and herbal hints.

MF- Silky and smooth are the first things that come to mind as the body has a frothy and creamy consistency with a medium carbonation level. Moderately thick and even a hint of slickness. Ends with an easy going fruity bitterness.

Intense sweet orange and tangerine hops with melon, grapefruit and floral support and a touch of malts. For me the malts are perceived a bit too sweet here and it brings this particular brew down below some of the great Trillium examples.

16 oz tallboy can. canned on date of 07/07/2016.

poured into JK wine stem.

Appearance: Opaque yellow orange body with a large head. Head has really good staying power and leaves heavy lacing on the glass as it drops down to a thick cap.

Smell: Awesome nose on this IPA; unique and complex. Interesting mix of citrus orange zest, lime zest, juicy grapefruit and juicy clementines. Melon rind, tropical fruits, dank, herbal, spicy, zest hops with some fresh cut grass. Intense aromas that are smooth and robust.

Taste: Moderate bitterness balanced with mild sweetness. Even though this is an IPA it drinks at a bitterness level of an APA because of the balance that is struck between malt and hops. Sweet oranges, pineapples, and lime zest. Herbal, zesty, and dank hops. Finishes with a lingering lightly bitter and dry pine note. Also a pleasant lime zest note that lingers with even more intensity than the pine.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. Juicy mouthfeel with a light dryness on the backend. Very drinkable.

Overall: I really liked this IPA. Really nice hop combo that makes some really unique hops aromas and flavors. I realize that this beer is a month old, but I really think its still pretty tasty. I do prefer my hoppy beer to be much fresher than this, but this beer is still pretty delicious.

Poured from a can dated May 24...about 1 month old.

Look is hazy golden orange...about 1 inch of head with proper lacing.

Smell is pure citrus...lemon,lime, grapefruit

Taste is also quite citrus... lemon, lime, grapefruit with some slight piney bitterness. a bad NEIPA... not trillium's best but a nice beer.

The beer pours a very white and bubbly head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a clear pale straw color with a little bit of haze. Also leaves quite a bit of lacing. The beer has a very tropical smell with a nice floral smell. The main notes are a zest lemon and pineapple. The taste is slightly different than the smell. The taste still has the lemon notes but also notes of grapefruit and citrus flavor. The mouthfeel is fairly crisp and light for an IPA. My guess is the lack of malts. Biting carbonation. Overall, a pretty good IPA and worth getting. A little hop forward for my tastes but nice nonetheless.

huge thanks to rob for hooking up this bottle. getting a little long in the tooth with a 6/8 born on date, but I will be brave.

the age definitely shows as this has a noticeable malt presence but all is not lost as a nice candied hop still cuts through making for a tasty ipa. not my favorite from trillium but perhaps I would dig fresher...I am certain I would. good beer bit drink em if ya got em from 6/8.

Poured out as a hazy yellowish gold color with a white head on top. The smell of the beer is nicely hopped. The taste of the beer has a good hop profile as well. The feel of the beer is nice and smooth. Overall it's another solid IPA from Trillium.
