Once again, we partner with Barrington Coffee Roasters to brew Night & Day. In order to reach the higher gravity and fuller-body of this massive imperial stout we employ a reiterated mash technique that allows us to create an unusually rich, high gravity, 100% malt wort. Pouring raven-black with a persistent creamy pale-brown head, Night & Day is seductive with aromatics of roasted dark malt, espresso, caramel, cocoa powder, dark fruit, charred toast, and subtle sweet vanilla. At a soul-warming ABV of 11.5%, this bold, imperial stout drinks velvety smooth with mellow bitterness, silky carbonation, and balanced flavors of dark roast coffee, chocolate, figs, affogato and black cherry.

Amazed I’ve never rated this one, as I swore I’ve had it before. Either way, damn great beer. Pours dark, minimal head and lacing. Strong coffee notes over roasted dark malt scents. Definite chocolate and vanilla notes, but not the other ones listed in the description. Taste follows-strong dark roasted malt, just an assertive stout, with a very pleasantly heavy coffee presence. Medium to big bodied, just a hint of a thick syrupy nature that is in no way off putting; in fact, it adds to the character of the beer. Booze presence is right where it should be. A great coffee stout, as stated before-damn damn great.

Released 12/15/22; drank 3/22/23 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A slow pour yielded almost no tan head; almost no lace.
Dark roast coffee bean, chocolate syrup & faint booze heat notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Dark roast coffee bean & chocolate syrup flavors; astringent booze heat on the finish.
A blunt, unpleasant beer that you can choke down if needed. Permanent pass for me.

L-Pitch black, thin mocha head that quickly dissipates......lacing is non-existent,.....no light penetration.....looks like motor oil
S-Blast of dark roasted coffee dominates the nose......some caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream
T-Rich and decadent, roasty coffee, anise, caramel, vanilla.....some roasted coconut..... finish is long with dark chocolate, lingering sweetness long after a sip
M-Full bodied, thick, viscous, syrupy.....low carb....slick and creamy
O- great full bodies stout that is very thick.....coffee upfront but there is a lingering sweetness that could use some balancing..... probably be great in a bourbon barrel

Poured at fridge temp. Pours jet black with tan head. Nose is coffee, roasted malts, a bit of maple, chocolate, tobacco, charred wood, a bit of coconut, and a slight burnt toffee note. The taste is super smooth coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, some dark fruit, roasted malts, and a bit of maple. Really nice and smooth. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Overall, a wonderful coffee stout.

Dark black pour with a smell of dark chocolate malt. Not much coffee that I get from this. Flavors are rich and decadent, but smooth given the big ABV. A nice stout from Trillium, and a great bottleshare.

Growler filled a few days ago at Armsby Abbey now that they do growlers to take away given the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pours a small fizzy dark head with low retention, a touch of lacing but nice long legs, inky dark black color
Nose brings lots of fresh nutty coffee up front, a bit roasty and a touch of char, quite nutty, some cocoa and dark chocolate, hint of baking spice and maybe licorice and vanilla, light nougat and caramel, coffee dominates most of it
Taste brings more rich coffee up front, big roasty coffee and a little char but not acrid, a dark roasty coffee that hints at espresso and adds some bitterness of its own, I don't think it was cold brewed and added I think the roasted beans were thrown in the secondary, a bit nutty again, slight earthy roast and hop characters, thick fudgey dark chocolate and more baking spice licorice notes but not much, a bit of the vanilla as well, a little caramel and more nougat characters, some tingly alcohol flavor, lush and creamy as well, deep fudge and coffee lingering, mild sticky finish
Mouth is full bod rich creamy lush, almost chewy, fair warming tingly alcohol, med carb
Overall not bad, nice base imperial stout and blends nicely with the coffee, I know I usually avoid this brewery due to all the negative press they get (and I know most of it is legit cause I hear stories from inside the industry), but it's good to try their beers again now and then cause they can make some great ones.

Bomber poured into a snifter
Black motor oil liquid crowned by a brown one finger dense foam cap , good retention, settles to thin islands
Aroma is coffee, roasted malts , whiff of brown sugar
Taste is sweet coffee, roasted malts
Micro carbonation , almost syrupy, the coffee roast notes linger
Good beer

My favorite coffee stout. 12.7% gets you there fast and is well hidden. Flavors throughout and change as it warms. Just a top notch coffee stout
