Double Dry Hopped The Publick HouseDouble Dry Hopped The Publick House
Notes: Brewed in appreciation of The Publick House, a craft beer mecca in Brookline, MA where close friends and warm hospitality welcome us time after time. This amplified version of The Publick House IPA presents a golden-orange hue, focuses on the exhibition of the Citra, Columbus and Centennial hops, with an aroma bursting of cantaloupe, mango, orange and a subtle note of cedar wood. The flavor profile has a toasted, bready malt character to balance the moderate bitterness. Light lemon and grapefruit pith reveal themselves in a creamy, well-balanced finish.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, C-15, C-60, Dextrine, Dextrose

HOPS: Citra, Centennial, Columbus

The beer comes in a slightly clear amber orange.

The aroma offers passionfruit, pineapple, lots of citrus zest brightness of orange and grapefruit, a hint of rubber tire.

The flavors hits in the front of mango, peach, passionfruit, dried pineapple, then onto a reasonably weaker mid and late palate. Some grainy, a bit of grapefruit pith bitterness, quite dry.

A juicy beer up front with little to interfere with that amazing Citra quality. One of the best beers next to DDH Melcher.

This is one of the best Trillium beers I've had, despite it being a different on malt and hops.

16 oz. can dated 10/17/16

Pours cloudy opaque golden amber orange with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like huge peaches, mango, crushed orange, some grapefruit, pineapple, melon, toasted bready caramel malts, with dank earthy herbal grass and floral resinous pine. Tastes like huge peaches, orange, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, melon, toasted bready caramel malts, with dank earthy herbal grass and floral resinous pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy and slick with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really nice double dry hopped IPA.

Dated 3/30/2017

Hazy, dirty straw with a white head. Bit of retention and lace.

It's like a hop bomb exploded when I opened the can... Grassy weed, tangerine, nectarine, grapefruit rind.

Good bitterness, lots of citrus... tangerine, nectarine, lemon zest... slightly bready backbone with very little sweetness. Alcohol is very subtle. Lots of my favourite hops here!

Mouthfeel is very smooth, with a light acidity.

Thanks @bakagaijin!

Poured from a 32 ounce growler into an enlarged snifter. This was filled at the brewery an hour ago.

Appearance: Pours an only slightly hazy, fairly vibrant tangerine orange/amber and leaves a finger of slightly off-white head that slowly fades to a layer atop the beer. (4.25)

Smell: Bright and juicy overripe mango, pineapple, citrus. One of the juiciest smelling IPA's I've come across. Light grassy hints as well as a some light malt as well. (4.75)

Taste: Juicy mango, tangerines, pineapple, a touch of honey, just a hint of earthiness, slight traces of licorice. Pretty nice, and fairly interesting. Not your typical IPA flavors, but a mix of some interesting stuff, primarily juicy fruits though. (4.25)

Mouth-feel: Medium carbonation with a medium body. Has a dryish quality to the juiciness which is interesting, but to me doesn't really go with the rest of it. (4)

Overall: An interesting IPA with a fantastic nose and lots of different flavors, that don't necessarily blend together as nicely as some of the other hop combos I've had from Trillium. Still really tasty and worthy of any hophead. (4.25)

Growler from the brewery shared by Curran today.

This one pours a slightly dark orange amber, fairly clear, with a 3/4 inch head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells quite grassy, with some pine, grapefruit, and honestly, a good amount of Citra cattiness.

This isn't one of Trillium's upper tier IPAs, but it's still pretty good. A good amount of herbal, marijuana type hop flavors, some Citra cat-piss goodness, a little bit of onion, and some sweet grapefruit. The booze shows a little bit, with some astringency near the end. The dank/onion/whatever flavors get a little tiring after two pints from the growler. Starts out good, gets fatiguing.

This one has a slightly thin body and an oily mouthfeel, with a lower level of carbonation. The mouthfeel could use a little bit of work.

This was pretty solid, but left a little to be desired in the end, at least compared to Trillium's other hop masterpieces.

Amazingly great brew and if I was dying and had to narrow it down to my top 10 beers this would be one of them.
