The latest edition of our New England Wild Saison series is aged on raspberries and features a generous amount of local wheat from Valley Malt in Hadley, Massachusetts. Pouring a slightly hazy pinkish hue, Raspberry Lineage Wheat presents bright aromas of fresh, sweetened raspberry jam with an underpinning of rich, woody-oak and a touch of funk from our Native New England mixed culture. On the palate, tart raspberry, ripe blackberry and muddled cranberry are delicately balanced by subtle, tangy lemon peel and a slight floral accent. A light, drinkable body and dry finish give Raspberry Lineage Wheat added nuance and approachability.

A 330ml bottle, bottled on 18th July 2018. Poured into a Cantillon ballon glass.
Appearance: It was a hazy orange pink colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a ring around the glass, while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet and tart, raspberry jam, raspberry, lemon zest, oak.
Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, jammy, lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Really easy and enjoyable to drink with great jammy raspberry aroma and flavours.

Muted ruby with burnt orange flairs and a white cap. Oak comes through in a dryer and rustic way, with tart raspberry puree, supporting cherry, barnyard funk and flowers. Taste brings in more depth to the raspberry itself, accenting cherry, lemon zest, blackberry, currant, and flowers there, oak and funk are reined in a little, slight acid within tartness. Feel is rustic, tart, slightly acidic, fruitier than expected and dry.

Pours pink with light colored head. Smell is earthy with raspberries and funk. Taste is too tart for my liking and not as nuanced as other sours I’ve had. Smell is terrific.

Comes out an opaque dark pink from the 330 ml bottle. Smell is a mix of raspberry and light funk and gets a bit sweeter as the beer warms. The taste also becomes more nuanced as it warms. Raspberry, oak and funk all present after an initial hit of tart berry in your first sip. Really nice beer which becomes more complex the longer you let it linger.

330ml bottle dated 7/19/18.
Pours cloudy pinkish red with a light pink short-lived head. Minimal retention or lacing. Light raspberries in the nose with sweet tarts. Light bodied with a crisp, snappy mouthfeel. Bracingly tart up front on the palate with acid-spritzed raspberries following through. Finishes with lingering raspberries and bright acid.
Nice sour that could use more raspberries and funk.
