Stillings Street IPAStillings Street IPA
Notes: This new edition in our “Street” series of India Pale Ales spotlights the remarkably complex Nelson Sauvin hop. Stillings Street is hazy, pale orange in appearance and emits aromatic qualities of kiwi, white grape and lemongrass on the nose. Delicate flavors of citrus zest, pineapple and cantaloupe are accentuated with crisp malt character, mild bitterness, and a soft, effervescent mouthfeel.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, C-15, Dextrine, Dextrose

Excited, Nelson heavy IPA from Trillium, canned 5 days ago, 8/25/16!

Pours a decent fizzy bubbly 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace, wish it was a bit bigger, murky milk shake tangerine orange color.

Nose nice musty lemony grassy tropical fruits, nice floral, musty fruit with a little citrusy, musty vinous white wine, crisp white wine, grape skin, floral hop.

Taste brings more musty grape skins, musty mild dankness, with some faint tropical notes, guava maybe, but lots of grape, a vinous white version of concord grape, and a mild citrus tangerine almost orange thing, lemony even, plenty floral as well, juicy grape orange juice, crisp white grape thing, etc. Finish is drier with fair bitterness, nice mild tropical musty note, more grape skin vinous notes, and little floral lingering.

Mouth is med bod, fluffy carb.

Overall note bad, nice Nelson vinous grape skin, nice and juicy, some decent tropical and touch of citrus, floral, etc, good malt balance, good carb, just a little light on the head maybe the only downfall.

Hazy lemon drop/orange juice color with a furry, creamy, thick head of 2 fingers. Lots of lace behind.

Fruity aromas of grapefruit and orange peel, with a firm but quiet herbal bitterness, quite a bit of mandarin orange, and some faint pineapple notes.

A firm woody bitterness starts out the profile, but fades off into some leafy plant, then grapefruit rind, mandarin orange, sage, and orange julius/orange creamsickle. Very clean flavors.

Feel is full of spikey carbonation, followed by a tight creaminess, and then a very resinous finish.

Overall, another very good offering from Trillium. Glad I have a couple more cans to enjoy.

As always, thanks a whole lot Kevin.

A- The signature tallboy pours a very hazy, almost murky golden-orange brew into a goblet. Rising atop the brew is a thick and creamy white cap that peaks at about one finger high showing off good retention. A few webs of thin lace.

S- Nelson hops showcased dominating the aroma with medium overall strength. The vinous grapes, berries, onion and citrus zest is really strong with hints of kiwi, herbs, tropical fruits, strawberry and floral things.

T- Rather sharp and bitter as the Nelson hops carry over from the aroma and actually open up a bit more for me with the tropical fruits coming out a bit more in the form of mango and peach. Vinous white grapes are massive with lemon zest, bitter ruby red grapefruit, dry berries, pineapple, lemongrass, oranges and onion comes to mind. Really not much to say about the malt and yeast, just a base formed here.

MF- Creamy and moderately thick body with high end carbonation. Luscious and almost chewy. Ends with a sharp bitterness.

Nelson hops all over the palate with a good but not amazing aroma as the strength feels somewhat subdued. Expect those vinous grapes, bitter citrus, herbs and tropical fruits with a great creamy body.

Poured from a 4 day old can into teku. The appearance is the nice hazy orange you would expect from a Trillium beer. Excellent citrus flavor coming through and a nice mouth feel to pair. I'm a big fan of Nelson hops so it was nice to see them introducing this to the Street series. If you love juicy hazy IPAs this is definitely something you should try.

Ok - so this one speaks to me, but I don’t know if it’s in my native tongue - which is fine - becauseI have met so many beautiful people in this world where we weren’t exactly on the same page at the beginning, yet in the end we were vibing on the same frequency. Yeah, this beer is like when your cafeteria in the 6th grade got a new dish, but you weren’t sure about it. You took another bite because it was different...and in no way is it bad, but... Let’s go! Man, this beer is like when you wake up in the middle of the night in your new apartment on the first day that you moved in. All of a sudden you are scared and not sure of things, but then consciousness and reality set in and you are cool. And when I drink this beer, I hesitate for a second, but then I’m ok because it’s totally cool.

So let’s go, baby. Here’s to new things.

This one pours the classically ugly and murky orange that is typical for the style. There's a small head, and a good bit of lacing.

This smells a lot like the Nelson bomb you'd expect it to me, with big tropical aromas- mango and pineapple, and that classic dank wine grape thing.

This is pretty intensely tropical and creamy, with lots of juicy mango and pineapple, and just a hint of that classic white grape thing on the finish. It's simple, but very well done- with a nice grassiness on the finish keeping from being too sweet.

This is very creamy and nicely juicy on the palate, with a good level of carbonation.

I've yet to have a bad Trillium beer, and I've tried many of them.

Pours golden with pillowy white head. Hint of mango and pineapple in the aroma. Some white grape as well. It's incredibly soft. Has some nice sweet white grape and mango, but is met with some citrus, earthy bitterness. For me, this is in the no mans land between drinkability and intensity. I wish this were a little bit more one or the other, but it's where it's at and that's a fine beer.

Nice pale ale, pale orange yellow color, little head. Not a strong nose, light aroma, light body, but highly/over carbonated - hoppy, Nelson is up front all the way.

A - Pours a cloudy orange with a two finger fizzy white head.

S - Aroma is grapefruit, tangerine, mango and pineapple.

T - The taste follows the aroma. Grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple and piney hops.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel with a crisp finish.

O - Solid IPA. Not my favorite from Trillium but definetly great nonetheless.
