This iteration of Dialed In is a fresh, juicy Double IPA intensively dry hopped with Galaxy and El Dorado. 16oz can, dated 8.2.17, poured into a Trillium Permutation Series stemmed glass. Enjoyed on 8.27.17, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a super turbid and hazy orange color, golden hues with a foamy white head that offers little retention and a few spots of lace. The aroma leads with white grape, bright and floral with lychee fruit, peach pit and grapefruit citrus with soft pale grain. The flavors are interesting, tons of white grape, vinous acidity, sweet lychee and soft pitted fruits with some floral and grassy hops, citrus peel, strong grain and alcohol heat. The mouthfeel is good, lively medium body, coating and crisp with a very dry and warm finish.

Verdict: A decent DIPA from Trillium. The super fruity nature of this beer mixed with the acidity from the grape juice and overhopped green grassy hops just doesn't blend well for me. The warm alcohol really doesn't help this beer and just accentuates the harshness of the flavors.

pithy grapefruit, herbaceous green note, pine, white grape, lemon, hint of floral, a peppery note. mouthfeel is a bit of a letdown, heavy carbonation and light-medium bodied, texture comes of sort of chalky.

A: Hazy gold with 1" foam and sticky lacing.
S: Citrus, wine, little spice, hops.
T: Unique flavors, getting the wine hit with a rush of citrus and a dryness throughout. Nice hops and champagne like essence mixed in.
M: Medium feel
O: This is a unique beer, difference flavor profile but very enjoyable, easy to consume and tasty.

I get tired rating really good to great brews from Trillium. I have been there twice now and have not rated a beer under 4. Hell I don’t get close to JUST a four. I am to far away in Maine to get there more than once or twice a summer season. Trillium, then Tree House, then Hill Farmstead. How’s that for a trifecta!!!!!

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 10/06/17.
A: Pours a hazy, tawny (golden brown) color with a three quarter inch head, moderate retention, and soapy lacing. Yeast evident in the glass.
S: Aromas of orange citrus and spices evident. Not sure I can detect the grape.
T: Palate largely follow the nose. Not sure that I am really detecting the grape flavor directly, although I can convince myself I am. I think the real payoff vis a vis flavor in the relative mild, yet complex flavor picture, which is not so typical of the NEDIPA style. Bitterness fairly light and in excellent balance. It is a refreshing change from the sometimes overly "loud" flavors.
M: Light to medium bodied with robust carbonation. Clean, frankly briny finish.
O: Really a one of a kind flavor experience. As I have observed prior, Trillium comes through yet again in a flavor forward manner. Kudos!
