Notes:
A refreshingly hoppy American pale ale, Pipsqueak Penguin is another edition in our "Small Bird Series" of lower ABV offerings, this time brewed for the colder months! The nose is a fusion of lime zest and pineapple. White grape and clementine fill out the flavor profile, balanced by a structured grainy backbone and a crisp, dry finish.

On tap at Trillium @ Thomson Place brewery. Served in a nonic pint glass.
O - A nice pale ale. A true pale ale. Easy drinking. Citrusy burps - Yum! Another hoppy good tasting low ABV beer. 4.0
A – Pours a cloudy dull orange juice, with a nice one- finger head. Not as ugly as the legroom. 3.75
S - Low aroma with citrus. 3.75
T - Citrusy, resiny, herbal and grassy. Not over the top hoppy. The best trillium beer I’ve had today. 4.0
MF – A light body with a safe easy dry finish. 4.25

Dark, amber orange, with a head about a finger thick that stays there until you're halfway done with it. Very satisfying nose, with hints of orange, pineapple, and apricot. Really refreshing body, smooth, mildly hoppy flavor, with a crisp, clean finish. Sometimes you forget how enjoyable a quality pale ale can be. This beer will remind you.

by IvoryFoxhole from Virginia
Canned 3/28/18 and purchased 4/5/18 at brewery.
L: Mostly hazy orange with golden tinges. 2F+ head at beginning with good retention, but eventually leaves nothing but a thin ring, no lacing.
S: Orange and lime zest seem to be the predominant items in the nose.
T: Lime zest and white grape juice up front, as the orange seems mostly absent from taste. Fair amount of flaked oats evident as well. Finish fairly neutral.
F: Light bodied, moderate carbonation. Construction and balance are OK. Decent drying.
O: A nice, pretty-easy drinking session ale.

Draft at Trillium-Canton. Not your typical NE IPA. Not overly juicy. More clean, with a hop bite at the end. Dry. Bitterness comes out as warms.

Canned on 1/23/18, drank on 2/1/18; as a frequent drinker of hoppy Trillium beers, this one just seems a bit off to me; it is good, but a little bitter and thin; definitely my least favorite on the Small Bird Series
