Notes: This version of Broken Angel is fermented with our native New England mixed culture and aged in oak foeders. The aroma is reminiscent of oaky chardonnay, with notes of white grape, black peppercorns, and subtle vanilla. The flavor is moderately tart with slight coconut and citrus funk characteristics. Light in body with a dry finish. A delicious oaky wild ale that's super drinkable.

The least of the three sours we tried at Trillium on tap, but one that holds its own against the greater sour world nonetheless. Blurs the lines between sour and beautifully dry white wine.

On tap at Trillium Canton. Clear golden with a small white head. Smells oak, sour, with some golden malt sweetness behind it. Smells big. Tastes like an oversized golden sour. Sweet golden malt, oak, vanilla, moderate sourness. Back end is a little spicy with some fruity yeastiness. Alcoholic finish. Heavy. Nothing really wrong with it, except its absurd size. Detracts from drinking even a small pour.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is oak and sour mix...maybe a touch of lemon juice. Medium bodied, sour with moderate carbonation. Above average, but there are several other Trillium wild ales I prefer. Nothing I would turn down though.

Large format bottle from the Fort Point shop. Sour, almost like a gose but has some real power to it. Color is yellow, no real cloudiness like their ales. Almost a wine quality for sure and no heavy carbonation like in some wild ales. Really interesting stuff as usual from these guys.
