Part of our Small Bird series of seasonal, sessionable pale ales, Puny Partridge features Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops balanced with a malt profile of Maris Otter and Naked Malted Oats. Leading with aromas of freshly squeezed orange juice, pith, and tropical fruit, Puny Partridge pops with a palate of fruit salad and melon. A crisp, light body and lower ABV make Puny Partridge an easy drinking, delicious Pale Ale.

"Love the small bird series. Love mosaic and Nelson. This was good but not up there with the others in the series. Thanks, Eric!" From my untappd February 1, 2018

Forgot to rate when I had it. On draft at Side Project Cellar, 02/1/2020. Profits in support of Friends Of Kids With Cancer.
Classic Trillium hop profile nose... tropical fruit, candied grapefruit. Flavors more “pale”, characterizing subtle mango & pineapple with light floral hops and a smooth, lightly bitter finish. Very solid.

Canned on 2/4/19; consumed on 2/28/19.
A: Poured into a Piraat tulip/snifter. Body is dark golden, bordering on orange. Gives the impression of being very hazy. No head, despite a fairly aggressive pour.
S: Vinous. I get the grape skins of Nelson and something that seems a little "off" - kinda like wet cardboard or burnt paper.
T: White grapes, white wine, with a touch of citrus (lemon) and faint, earthy grass or straw, all over crackery malt. Finishes very very dry.
M: Despite the haze, it's hard to call this one juicy due to that very dry finish. Light-to-medium in heft. Carbonation seems active but very fine.
O: It's growing on me after a few sips, but I'm far from blown away by this one. Once again I'm reminded that Nelson Sauvin hops are not my cup of tea.

On tap at the brewery. Murky orange. Smells of butter and some citrus. Tastes of citrus, some toasty malt, butter. Funny malt flavor that isn't pleasant. Medium light. Not good.
