Our latest Double IPA serves as a Public Service Announcement to warn against the Boston phenomenon of lodging a box truck under a low clearance overpass on Storrow Drive. While it's a sporadic phenomenon that can snarl traffic for hours, Storrow Drive claims most of its victims during college move in weekend, typically around Labor Day. Be sure to heed the Low Headroom Warnings at the Storrow Drive entry points!
Storrowed Double IPA presents as a deeply hazy, warm yellow/orange hue. Leading with a dank nose of sweaty pineapple, mangosteen, and stone fruit and follows with intensely juicy flavors of overripe mango, pear flesh, notes of grapefruit pith, and a background hit of raw sugar. That hint of sweetness is balanced by low bitterness to round out Storrowed as a smooth, delicious, drinkable Double IPA.
MALT: Pilsner, Honey Malt, Flaked Oats
HOPS: Vic Secret, Citra

Pours a frothy semi dense 1+ finger head with good retention, spotty lacing, hazy cloudy pale orange color
Nose loads of juicy citrus, orange, tangerine, lemon/lime as well, some tropical mango and hint of pineapple, light flaked grain and doughy malt,
Taste brings a lot more of the tropical fruit up front, mango, pineapple, papaya, into orange tangerine juice, a little peachy stone fruit, mild sweet malt and some creamy flaked malts or oats, very creamy juicy with a hint of water softening chalky minerals, faint warming smooth alcohol, a hint of green spicy hop late but barely any (I think this would have been undrinkable super fresh). Interestingly some melon or cantaloupe like on the back end.
Mouth is fuller bod, rich creamy juicy soft, carb a bit on the lower side, just a hint of warming alcohol
Overall pretty good, great hop profile that thankfully doesn't get too green and spicy late, alcohol balanced well, maybe a bit too much on the soft juicy feel but still good

Pours a very hazy golden pineapple color with a creamy off white head that clings to the glass and leaves a nice cap on the beer as you enjoy it. Gorgeous hazy.
The nose is dank and includes lots of mango, grapefruit, papaya, apricot, and a nice bit of resiny pine. The mango, grapefruit, and papaya are forward on the taste and exquisite, with the apricot and bit of resiny pine mid-palate before coasting into a slightly sweet oat finish. This is absolutely delicious, IMHO.
The mouthfeel is full and soft, on point for the style. This is a well executed beer that has an adventurous flavor profile that fits the NEDIPA style perfectly.

Poured from a can into a tulip. Pours hazy orange with a tiny white head. Smells of creamy citrus, very inviting. Tastes of creamy citrus and slight earthiness. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Orange juice looking body; initially nice looking head, fairly thick and foamy then thin, patchy wisps of foam sit atop the beer. Citrus-like aroma; odd woody-herbal undertone; pine resin; an oat-like quality. Acidic, bitter flavor with a lemon and orange pitch infusion; a mild touch of oat grain; phenolic bitterness. Heavy body; sharp and acidic; alcohol dryness.
I've tried only six Trillium beers total and most have been pretty good - 4+ overall ratings. But this plus one sampled in 2020 - Omnipolloscope #5, just didn't cut it for me. Think sharp, acidic cardboard. I'm thinking the 3+ months of age may have something to do with this.

Poured into a 13 tulip glass canned on 8/30/22. Pours a milky yellow with a half finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace with nice retention. 4.5
Aroma is mandarin, passionfruit, mango, papaya, apricot, and a little hit of grapefruit rind. 4.5
Taste follows mandarin, papaya, mango, passionfruit, apricot, and little grapefruit bitterness in the finish. 4.5
Mouthfeel is rather big, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8.4% huge flavor but easy going down. 4.5
Overall this is very tasty as I expect from this brewery. A winner for sure. 4.5
