Notes: Pouring an opaque black with faint ruby highlights, Coffee Cake announces itself with bold, swirling aromas of cinnamon-brown sugar crumble, cappuccino, toasted walnut and dried fruits. The palate calls to mind flavors of freshly baked cinnamon-raisin rolls as waves of melted chocolate chips and dulce de leche are balanced by pronounced, yet delicate interwoven notes of nutmeg and allspice. Full bodied and mildly sweet with a gentle, balancing bitterness, Coffee Cake makes for the perfect, warming complement for the seasonal change of fall into winter.

HOPS: Hop Extract

Wayyyyyyyyy too heavy on the cinnamon and not enough on the coffee or vanilla. Smells ok (generic coffeecake pastry aroma) but the flavors are almost nothing but cinnamon

Poured from a 750mL bottle into a trillium tulip glass. Purchased at the brewery.

Pours a deep brown body with red highlights, fizzy brown head dissipates quickly to leave no lacing or head retention.

On the nose, lots of cinnamon and brown sugar aromas, chocolate, light coffee, slightly metallic.

On the tongue the sweet brown sugar cinnamon notes take center stage, once it warms it becomes more creamy with sweet milk-chocolate-coffee notes, frosted cinnamon bun, roasted malt on the finish. Mouthfeel is good after allowing to warm to just below room temperature with low carbonation and a pretty heavy body.

This stout lives up to the name, lots of cinnamon with a good rich mouthfeel.

Typical stout look. Leaves no head, poured with a fizzy gead. Nose is of strong coffee and cinnamon with some vanilla and sugar sweetness. Taste follows the nose with strong cinnamon, followed by coffee, sweet vanilla, and ends with slight green pepper and coffee and malt bitterness. Feel is light for the style but not disappointing. Overall, coffee cake in a stout.

A rich black pour with dark brown highlights, no head or lacing. The nose is dominated by cinnamon with a bit of vanilla, and those tastes dominate for me. I only taste a slight coffee aftertaste, with a bit of dark chocolate and cinnamon. There is only a slight hint of alcohol, but I definitely feel it half way through the bottle. Even 3 months after bottling, this is a decadent stout, a great special occasion beer. So sweet yet complex as well, full of roasty goodness on a cold winter's night.

750ml bottle, snifter glass. Medium darker black body, slight brownish hue, one finger white head, good retention. Smell is coffee and green peppers, milk chocolate sweetness, light cinnamon, touch of dark fruit, cocoa. Flavour follows, a bit more astringent green peppery coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, a bit of dark fruit, a bit of dark chocolate bitterness. Medium bodied, good carbonation, mildly bitter with green peppers on the finish. The green peppers kind of kills it for me here, but this is still full flavoured and bodied.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with minimal tan head. Nice cinnamon aroma with vanilla and coffee. Thick sweet and chewy. Cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel and coffee flavors. Awesome dessert beer.

Overall as a stout a touch thin and too sweet . The cinnamon is well done and pops but all it brings to the table. After a weekend of bottle logic and AC just not in the same league
