Notes: The Assorted Treats series was born out of the desire to create a daily-drinking version of our culinary-inspired stouts. Designed to encapsulate some of our favorite after-dinner sweets, our Dessert Series imperial stouts are decadent, rich, and often on the higher end of the ABV spectrum. With Assorted Treats, you won't need a special occasion or group of friends to enjoy a little self-indulgence.

Sweet coconut dipped in decadent chocolate is a simple, yet completely satisfying bite. We've set out to replicate this sensory experience with Coconut Truffle. Pitch black in appearance, aromas of baker's chocolate, fudge, and shredded coconut swirl from the glass. Well-integrated secondary notes of vanilla and marzipan contribute layers of nuance. Mildly sweet, with a gentle warming character and medium carbonation, Coconut Truffle is rich in flavor without overwhelming the palate.

Holy moly, it’s literally a coconut truffle liquified in a can! Jet black in color with hardly any head or lacing. Lots of dark chocolate and toasted coconut on the nose. Super rich flavors of coconut and melted dark chocolate- rich, syrupy mouthfeel. The waves of chocolate in the aftertaste so a great job of masking the alcohol. I’ve had some desserty stouts before that sometimes have a strange aftertaste, like something artificial. This one hides it really well and the chocolate and coconut really come through. After this one I’m totally going to check out some of the other cans in this series.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a deep cola brown color with a finger of effervescent caramel head. The head leaves a string of lacing as it quickly settles into a thin sheet. A good looking Trillium stout? Wouldathunkit.

The aroma is, well... chocolate truffle. To break it down for you, it's got notes of sweet coconut shavings, coconut cream, and dark chocolate. There's some fainter notes of caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar, but otherwise this comes exactly as advertised.

The flavor has a bit more going on. There's a wave of coconut and macaroons up front, followed by some caramel, chocolate fudge, vanilla, and brown sugar. Finishes with a tidal wave of dark chocolate.

The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and smooth. Faintly dry.

Overall, this beer is stupid and I don't care. It comes exactly as advertised on the can. It smells and tastes like coconut truffle candy and it's delicious. Trillium may have unashamedly joined the pastry stout game, but they do them very well.

Can from the brewery in Fort Point in Boston, purchased on the weekend of EBF 2020. Pours black with a light tan head that lingers and boozy lacing, smell is straight up chocolate dipped coconut macaroon and wet sugary coconut goodness, taste follows the nose with sweet coconut, milk chocolate, and chocolate milk, finished with a light kiss of roasted dark malts, this beer is medium bodied and smooth. This is chocolatey coconut space jam water, thirst quenchingly crushable. Yoom!

Poured out as a dark black color with a thin head on top. The smell of the beer was loaded with coconut aroma and a bit of chocolate in the mix as well. The taste of the beer was really nice, chocolatey toasted coconut through out. The feel of the beer was smooth. Overall I thought this was really enjoyable.
