Notes: Daily Serving was born out of our desire to express intense, saturated fruit character in beer form. After thoughtful experimentation with Permutation 6.47 and 6.51, we found that a base recipe similar to the German Berliner Weisse style, with its delicate, yet fluffy mouthfeel and even-keeled acidity is the perfect foundation for robust fruit additions.

With a hefty addition of mango and passionfruit, the third entry to our Daily Serving series takes a refreshingly tropical approach. Deep orange in color, with a heavy, glowing haze, mango smoothie is the first thing that comes to mind when the can is cracked. Waves of passion fruit juice, orange creamsicle, and apricot all make an appearance on the palate. Medium-bodied, lightly sweet, and incredibly soft, Daily Serving: Mango & Passion Fruit is a vivid drinking experience throughout the entire glass.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA

Served in a Rastal Harmony stemless beer glass

The hazy, peach colored body was capped by a thin, off-white film of bubbles that quickly dissolved. No lacing whatsoever.

The aroma was outstanding. Super fruity and sweet. Peach and apricot seemed most prominent, even though this beer contained none of either. Ripe juicy mango was also noticeable. Some passionfruit as well. Later, the passionfruit intensified.

The flavor profile was very similar to the nose. Mango was perhaps most apparent here. Peach and apricot came through strong as well. Wheaty with a nice creamy oat character in the center. Bit of lemony tartness on the back end and the finish. Touch of brininess and lingering acidity.

Nice fluffy mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. Creamy, slick and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a larger bubbled, fairly aggressive effervescence.

Trillium’s Daily Serving offerings have been somewhat hit or miss, but this mango and passionfruit variant was definitely a winner. I would put this right behind the original raspberry release as their best to date.

Pours opaque golden orange with a dense creamy off-white foam head. Smells like intense fresh passionfruit and mango, tart tropical fruit juices, mango nectar, pineapple, dragonfruit, tropical fruit smoothie, with some gummy candy notes. Tastes tart and tropical, wheaty, with concentrated fresh passionfruit and mango, mango nectar, dragonfruit, pineapple, tropical fruit smoothie, orange sherbet, apricot juice, with hints of bready wheaty malt. Feels fuller-medium bodied, thick and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a real great mango and passionfruit Berliner weisse style.
