Notes: Pouring a viscous pitch black, a swirl of Barrel-Aged Endless Night & Day leaves slowly-descending legs on the side of the glass. The aroma is incredibly complex, with depth being uncovered over time as the pour slowly warms. Aromas of a mid-morning coffeehouse, specialty dark chocolate, and whisky-soaked oak make an appearance upfront, before giving way to secondary tones of sticky molasses, fudge, and vanilla cream. BA Endless Night & Day drinks thick and offers a decadent sweetness prior to finishing with a warming alcohol presence and gentle bitterness.

Drank from a 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) bottle purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
Served in a tulip

The beer poured a super dense and oily, near pitch black hue. A creamy but small, crimson-tinged saddle brown head topped the body and quickly fell to a thin ringlet. There was no lacing whatsoever. The liquid did however deposit a sticky yellow film along the glass.

The aroma was outstanding. Coffee notes came through big time. Super rich and smooth. Loads of roasted and caramel malt character. There was a punchy brown sugar-like sweetness too. Vanilla was also apparent. Some chocolate fudge as well. The vanilla and the chocolate notes really intensified as the beer warmed. Moderate bourbon presence. For 15.5% ABV, the alcohol was remarkably well hidden.

The flavor profile was also fantastic. Uber malty and robust up front. Big coffee presence. Loads of brown sugar in the center. Sweet but not excessively so. Chocolate fudge notes were also apparent. Good dose of vanilla too. Oaky bourbon-barrel notes kicked in hard as the beer moved along the palate. Like in the nose, the alcohol was well buried. Moderate amount of booze, roast and lingering sweetness on the back end and in the finish.

Excellent dense, viscous mouthfeel. Creamy and full bodied for the style. The liquid contained a super fine, rather subdued effervescence that worked very nicely.

While many of Trillium’s barrel-aged stouts have been fantastic, this might be their best effort to date. The adjuncts were punchy but not overdone, and the barrel notes complimented the beer perfectly. Pastry stouts rarely get any better than this.

Pours deep pitch black. Aroma is roasty malts, coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Intense taste. Very bourbon dominated, roasted malts, coffee, caramel and vanilla. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. One of best Trillium barrel aged stouts.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like rich, roasty and very strong coffee, vanilla, high quality dark chocolate, oak, nuttiness, boozy caramel, and coconut.

This is pretty easily the best barrel aged stout that I've had from Trillium so far. The 26 months in rye barrels really sets this one off - there's tons of caramel, vanilla, even some coconut from the barrel, with more typical oak spice and hearty bourbon tones. The coffee on this is just so nice - roast, spice, dark chocolate, dark fruit - it's just so bright and floats tastily on top of the heavy duty barrel.

This is really thick, probably the thickest beer Trillium has ever done, with no booziness at all. This is a dangerous beer.

This is just about as good as it gets for barrel aged coffee stout. A lot of work went into this one, clearly, and that effort shows. This is tremendous.

16oz. capped bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter. Shared with schen9303.

Pours like motor oil. No head but huge, sticky, oily legs. Nose is brownie, chocolate, vanilla, and booze. I also get some mocha and a light touch of caramel. Dense and super deep and desert-y as possible. Beer opens milk chocolate, mocha, and vanilla. Brownie and more chocolate in the middle. Slight booze, molasses, and vanilla at the finish. Nice but a little too sweet. Body is full with low carbonation. Slicky, oily, and chewy on the palate. Hot, sticky, and super rich going down. Great for the style.

This one's just a touch sweet. Great body and solid flavor though.

L -- Inky black with a noticeable viscosity. Aerated pour produces a slowly developing brown head that dissipates quite quickly
S -- Deep notes of dark chocolate, espresso, oaky barrel, and roast. Hints of vanilla, walnut, and caramel
T -- Largely follows the nose. Very strong flavors all around, enough to more or less mask the 15.5% of pure ETOH that's floating around in here. Not overly sweet, which is a huge plus compared to many of these Trillium big stouts
F -- Huge mouthfeel, minimal carb. Wonderfully thick and velvety
O -- One of the best stouts to date from these guys. The intense espresso-like coffee notes could be toned down a hair

500ml bottle

Pours a dense black liquid with some maroon red brown edges, and a small light brown head that recedes to a ring. Smells like big bold cold brew coffee, rich chocolate, vanilla, dessert confectioneries, roasted malt, dark caramel, molasses, toffee, hint of smoke, dried fruit, oak, sweet whiskey, with some mild earthy hop notes. Tastes really rich, pretty sweet, dessert chocolates, fresh vanilla, roasty smooth cold brewed coffee, dark chocolate pudding notes, some dark caramel, toffee, molasses, hint of smoke, char, whiskey oak barrel, toasted nuttiness, dried fruit, with a touch of earthy hop. Super flavorful, intense, really rich, sweet yet not overboard, pretty decent balance, delicious. Feels medium-full bodied, thick and viscous, smooth with low carbonation. Overall a real great barrel-aged imperial stout with cold brewed coffee, cacao and vanilla.
