22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip
A: Pours a dark honey orange with a white head, not much head retention, no lacing, beer is clear, good amount of carbonation streaming from the middle.
A: Belgian yeast, some honey, some spice, hay/grassy aroma, no alcohol, pretty straightforward aromas.
T: Like the nose I'm getting Belgian yeast, touch of spice and honey, rye, dry finish, a moderate amount of bitterness comes through, pretty easy drinking beer.
M: Less than medium body, well carbonated, dry finish.
O: This is better than I thought it would be but it has more bitterness than I've tasted in other Belgian pale ales. It's balanced, easy drinking, good balance of honey, rye, and spice, but if the bitterness was toned back a bit, this would definitely improve in my humble opinion.

They call this a "Belgian Amber." Dark amber with a modest foam that dissipates fairly rapidly. Minimal carbonation but there's a slight tingle in the mouth. Some malt in the nose. THe flavor seems to have some biscuity taste, but they've been burnt, not browned. Not really yeasty except for the drying tendency.
Winey, vegetable flavors. Hints of cherry and pear skins. A little malty sweetness with each new sip. Seriously dry at the finish. I just couldn't work up much enthusiasm for this. It seems too bitter for the limp flavors and it would have benefited from some sudsiness. On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.
