Not far from downtown and the Space Needle, Downtown Spirits is a large liquor store with one room seemingly dedicated to nothing but spirits, and there's a second, but larger room with a walk down the hallway which leads to a large wine cellar, beer display, tasting room, and growler station. Several doors of cooler chill some of the beer selection, but much of the selection will be sitting on the sales floor.

The beer selection is largely made of American made beer, however some imports can be found. The selection is varied and interesting, featuring beers from AleSmith, Omnipollo, Tilquim, Grand Teton, Dieu du Ciel, Ballast Point, Against the Grain, Saint Dekkren, Mikkeller, and a lot more. Visible prices for the bottles are always appreciated and seemingly overlooked. There was ample service, especially in the beer/wine cellar, where an employee was happy to walk me through some of the beers of the Pacific Northwest that this California native has no clue about. With what I experienced, I was happy to part my money at Downtown Spirits.

This place is a hidden gem in downtown Seattle. The selection was excellent and everything is very well organized. There were also a number of fairly hard to find bottles sitting by the growler counter, which was a nice surprise. Prices were reasonable as well.

Very solid liquor store in downtown Seattle with a very good selection of craft beer. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. They have a tasting room and it looked like they had around 7 beers or so on tap. Most importantly, they let you buy single bottles or cans which is really awesome. The only other store in the Seattle area I was aware of that let you do that is Bottleworks. I will definitely be coming back in the future

I, too, visited Downtown Spirits today while walking from Whole Foods to Vine Street Market; it's a convenient little beer-run route. I never would have thought of it if not for the review here, so good on the BA community!

From the street, it appears to be simply a liquor store, however, there's an expansive back room (about 2/3 of the total space) which is devoted to beer and wine. There are a relatively small number of refrigerated cases with some singles and mostly multi-packs, plus a wall and several standalone shelves of singles and large-format bottles. I was able to pick out some brews I'd never seen before, so that's always a good thing.

Staff were helpful and the place is set up for tastings, so I'm sure they have events and such. They also had a growler fill station, but sadly I don't recall what all they had available. Anyway, the place is close to my office and I'm sure I'll be visiting again.

I happened onto this place while walking from Whole Foods to Vine Street Market. I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice atmosphere and a solid beer selection. I picked up a four pack of 3 Way IPA. It was well worth a stop.
