22oz brown bomber, sample from the brewery.

Towering brown head on top of a very dark brew. Wafting of fresh brewed coffee, prunes and mild charcoal. Dense roasted character, lots of coffee with some suggestions of burnt toast and dark unsweetened chocolate. Small hint of alcohol, mild dark fruit and a kiss of molasses in the finish. Coffee lingers hard in the aftertaste as well.

Very robust yet still quite drinkable.

Poured a dark, dark brown with a two inch light brown, bubbly head. Some lacing retained on the glass. Smells of roasted malts and coffee. Some milk chocolate too. Taste is very much the same with coffee up front and slight cocoa on the finish. Medium bodied, a little watery on the finish. A bit sticky on the lips too. Overall, was expecting more but still a decent brew.

L: Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Head fades fairly quickly.
S: Aroma is tons of coffee. And I mean lots of coffee. There's also some dark malts in the aroma.
T: Coffee. It's pretty balanced flavor wise, with a coffee rind bitterness keeping the sweetness in check.
F: Smooth.
O: Excellent coffee stout. One thing I like a lot about this one is the bitterness that helps keep it in check, which some coffee stouts are unable to do. Pick it up if you see it.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a nice looking off white foamy head that slid off adequately to leave some sly stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee bean to coffee ground notes fairly bold and up front with an all encompassing bitter cocoa powder semi-sweetness stifling the roast as it warmed.
The flavor was moderately bitter with a simple sweetness and the roasty tones coming in finely with a delicate toast coming in further underneath. Moderate aftertaste of the bitterness along with the roastiness.
The aftertaste was a semi-bitter harsh to semi-roasty pull along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Finish was moderately smooth with a brisk roasty grip at the end.
Overall, I liked it for me, but not as "roasty" as I was lead to believe due it's name. Perhaps again.

From one of the few 650 ml bottles they have released on this limited edition beer. Sampled on January 30, 2014. Serving at about 55 degrees into a stem glass.

The pour is a deep brown color to practically black with a tremendous, soft foamy tan head that lingers and laces.

Check out all that coffee on the nose. And toasted malts! Coffee and toast in my beer just like breakfast with an slight earthy hop hint on the tail side.

Medium and smooth body for certain.

A veritable caffeine rush! Lots of roasted coffee and toasted bread in the taste with a lingering, slightly dry bitterness at the finish. Very nicely done. Get it while you can. When it is gone it is gone.

Bomber poured into a stemmed glass.

Appearance: It's a deep brown with a one-and-a-half finger off-white head. Classic stout presentation.

Aroma: Coffee, roasted malt, some dark chocolate.

Taste: Follows the nose, with a touch of hops and a more bitter chocolate finish than expected. Maybe a little dark fruit a la dates, too.

Mouthfeel: Pretty thick. A sipper even at not-super-high ABV.

Overall: Nice coffee stout. It's all there for stout fans - great cold weather beer.

On-tap 3/15/2015 at British Beer Company, in Walpole, MA served in a becker pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a short beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with a strong black coffee flavor up front that is quickly followed by a hearty roasted malt character and some smokiness. There is some chocolate flavor in the background. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, slightly filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid coffee beer to drink for a long time.
