Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Stringy lace. The aroma centers around roasty nuts, sweet toffee malts and a light breadiness. Some dry roastiness to earthy bitter to spicy hoppiness rounds it all out. The flavor is a balance of roast to sweet to earthiness. Breadiness seems to slide further into the background. Roasty to earthy aftertaste. Slim dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one has a light to medium body with a decent sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Overall, nice English styled brown ale that I would have again.

Look- There's a small amount of white head to it with a medium brown body that I can see through it with just a tad bit of light.
Smell- This beer smells of roasted malts with a fairly solid punch of alcohol behind that first whiff.
Taste- With this category I was tasting almost all roasted coffee.
Feeling - Has a smooth start with a soft kick of alcohol to finish in the back of your mouth.
Overall - Coffee isn't my favorite flavoring but the smell is an excellent one.

L-A cautious poor leads to a 1 cm off white head which dissipates to a thin film. Lacing is thick and clinging. The brew itself is a clear deep brown which light minimally penetrates.
S- The smell is of roasty sweet malts. There is a bit of alcohol behind roasty sweetness as well.
T- Similar too the nose except in reverse. I get some alcohol right off the bat, but as the beer hits the back of my tongue I get the roasty sweetness that I love in a brown ale.
F- The carbonation is prickly and the mouthfeel falls on the lighter side of medium. Nothing earth-shattering here
O- This is a very good brown ale. Similar to Smuttynose's Old Brown dog, but with a little more alcohol kick.A very good brown ale that I would have no problem drinking again.

I had passed this up more than once for their other offeringd but now that I've tried it, I'm kicking myself for doing so. It pours a deep, seemingly infinite brown with appropriate carbonation. Smell is best described as slightly sweetened roasted grains and the taste reflects that in a way that i wouldn't even have imagined possible. This is a delightful beer to be enjoyed slowly to take in the complexities that I generally don't see in this style. If brown ales are your jam, you've got to give this one a try.

Generally, I have been Luke warm on this brewery. This beer has been the best of the bunch. A nice coffee brown color in the pint glass, poured from a bomber. A thin bubbly head dissipated, leaving scattered light lacing. Smells of sweet molasses. The taste is of molasses and bitter coffee. Slightly sweet but with nice offsetting bitterness.

Decent beer! From the bottle, it pours brown into the glass with a nice head. Malty, hoppy flavor comes through, along with the strength. Strong, but not overly so.

Sample bomber from the brewery.

This is exactly the kind of beer I need on a night that will reach negative two... Beautiful tan lacing on top of a very dark brown brew. Big aroma of toasted bread and dark fruit. Lovely smoothness within its lush creamy body. Heavy toasted malt blanket on the palate. Some brown sugar and dark fruit in the middle, balanced by an ample amount of hops and some alcohol.

Absolutely delicious.

Been pretty unimpressed by them so far, I think this is my last from them as I grabbed a few to sample, so hopefully this is better than the other two, esp since this is usually a boring style.

Pours a light slight fizzy fluffy like 1/2 finger head that fades fairly slowly though, leaves a nice high-water mark of lacing, super dark murky molasses brown color.

Nose is pretty nice, big toasty brown malts, caramel and toffee, nice nutty toffee creamy caramel brown malts, a little candy like sweetness and brown sugar, just touches of grassy herbal hops.

Taste brings lots more brown malts again, toasty and a little sweet, some candy like caramel, plenty of caramel and mild nutty toffee, with a little brown sugar sweetness and creamy brown malts. Some mild grassy herbal hops with a touch of pine and spicy like hops. A little earthy nut and root like flavor, and slightly herbal. Finish is a little drier and slightly sticky, faint touch of booze warmth and tingle down the throat, with a little herbal spicy hop lingering.

Mouth is med to fuller bod, nice fluffy carb, a little chewy like.

Overall pretty nice, much better than the last two beers, a fairly boring style but pretty well done. Hops are held back nicely and come through decently, and a nice malt profile, pretty enjoyable, but just a bit of booze in there that probably comes through a bit too much.
