Notes / Commercial Description:
An India Pale Ale - gets its golden copper color from the light caramel malts, which provide a solid backbone to the support all the great hops. This beer presents with an overwhelming citrus aroma that leads into an unmistakable flavor of grapefruit. Hop Slinger leaves you with a nice dry bitterness that pairs well with spicy curries, salty fried foods and ginger based desserts.

From the can (!), this beer pours a hazy amber with a nice head, diminishing to a modest head for a while. Scent is a bit of pine and I get a bit of alcohol, although it may be the warm weather. Taste is pleasantly hoppy. A repeater!

Picked this up at a Trader Joes on a whim. Pours a hazy gold. Aroma is of pine, grapefruit and bread. Taste is a little one-dimensional - a little too biscuity. Not terrible, but I wouldn't get it again.

I was searching the shelves of a local NH beer store and noticed a very attractive new can from a well-regarded friend. Henniker has done a nice job with their new branding and fortunately the contents within have not noticeably changed. Hop Slinger has been one of my periodic standbys since its introduction a number of years ago but I've failed to rate it in the past. It lacks the hype of some of the more recent IPAs in NH and elsewhere but its blend of fruity hops and 7.0 ABV result in a consistently drinkable and flavorful product. It will continue to be very welcome in my beer refrigerator.

Very solid IPA, balanced with good carbonation and quite drinkable. I'm a bit perplexed by some of the low ratings (1 or 2 rating, really??!?), so I'll give it close to a 4 to offset. It's a solid B+ for me, though.

12 oz. Can. Best before 6/3/18 opened on 2/5/18

Pours out amber and gold in color, lively appearance with an excellent, solid white foam cover, good coverage after receding and funky, detailed lacing.

The aroma is off the charts, the depth of fruity smelling hops is ridiculous. A very pungent, crazy sweet red and tropical fruity hop overwhelms the olfactory system.
Peach, oranges, sweet melon, mango, and floral all pop out of this hop combo.
Sweet edged malt and a bit of alcohol heat as well. The aroma is as deep as any of the more sought-after big ipa's, especially the New England style, but even more of a unique aroma with it's dense sweetness.

The first sip offers a very complex and delicious aray of hop tones. Earthy, dry and leafy to start, tropical juice with pineapple, mango and peaches, a light to medium bodied malty backbone rides in with even more excellent flavor's as the middle offers citrus and wild red berries. A slightly dry heat keeps it interesting with big style. The complexity is high, the drinkabilty is high, it's unique and very interesting all the way around.

I concider this to be one of the most excellent go-to ipa's that I can call local. Certainly one of the very best from my home state of New Hampshire. Highly underrated, or perhaps just overlooked due to the fact you dont have tobwait in a long line for two hours just to hopefully get some. Hype goes a long way. This is high quality stuff here from Henniker.

12 oz. can poured into a tulip.

Appearance: Opaque orange with a short white head.

Aroma: Kind of faint malt sweetness along with hints of sugar and fruit.

Taste: Punchy apricot up front along with malt backbone. Nice hop bite.

Mouthfeel: Boozy and hoppy but approachable.

Overall: Nice standardish IPA. A wee bit maltier than most. Worth a try.

Orange copper color and cloudy in a pint glass poured from a can by McWain Pond on a sunny July day. Picked up at Food City in Bridgton, ME ( great place for local craft beers) . Just the right bitterness. Good brown white head. Pine hints. Aroma is faint. Flavor is non-citrus and goes down easy. Not exactly memorable, but a good rendition of an East Ciast IPA . Might not pick it up again.

On tap at Pork & Pickles BBQ.
Two pints, though both poured into pint glasses, I get what was going on, here's my observations:
The appearance was a glossy burnt yellow color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation rose at a moderate pace. Bar pour's kind of slim white foamy head slid off pretty quick to not leave any lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of mango to apricot hop sweetness melding with a light grassy hop contour. Clean caramel malts.
The flavor was somewhat sweet with a mobile smooth sweet semi-hoppy aftertaste and restrained bitterness.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Bitterness harshness seemed barely there.
Overall, really good AIPA that I didn't know Henniker had it them, damn right they do!
