An India Pale Ale - gets its golden copper color from the light caramel malts, which provide a solid backbone to the support all the great hops. This beer presents with an overwhelming citrus aroma that leads into an unmistakable flavor of grapefruit. Hop Slinger leaves you with a nice dry bitterness that pairs well with spicy curries, salty fried foods and ginger based desserts.

Pours a very nice golden hue with a decent head into my glass. Not as pale as expected but acceptable.
That big 'ol pine bite denotes this as an east coast IPA. Other than that, it has a decent malt backbone.
Very crisp. Big lingering pine in the mouth, leaving little room for malt to shine through.
The mouthfeel is basically the same. Just lots of lingering flavor. Nothing to really set it apart though.
A decent IPA that would taste excellent on tap.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a six sample flight. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle dank citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright malt base with bitter citrus presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Taster at Henniker. Medium, clear golden, thin head. Sweet, malty aroma with light piney notes. Taste brings a slice of piney, earthy hops on top of a caramel malty base.

I had not had Hop Slinger for a year or so and picked up a 6-pack...seems like the recipe has changed. The taste has a spicy, anise type flavor I did not remember from previous experiences with this local brew. It didn't amount to a "drain pour", but it sure has a different vibe going on that I hadn't tasted in an IPA before. That said, it did go pretty well with my pizza.

Oh, man, their eastern neighbors get all the beer love, but I totally dig what is coming to me in CANs from the Granite State. Yeah, yinz CAN go chase all of the Lawson's & Hill Farmstead that you want, but I'm digging some NH goodness! Baby, I'm on a New CANned Henniker Beer Sunday (Week 733) kick today & things are solid as I have the Bruins/Pens game on. Hockey is LITERALLY the coolest & I love me some PGH Pens & CHI 'Hawks. If beer is baseball's liquid, then it flows freely for hockey, also.
From the slingin', swingin', shootin' from the top o' the dot CAN: "Unfiltered and juicy! Floral and fresh! We searched across the country to bring you the newest and best hops on the market for this delicious IPA. The Idaho 7 and El Dorado hops come to us from the pacific northwest and help to bring Hop Slinger a unique flavor profile to make it stand alone in a world full of IPAs. Look for beautiful tropical fruit notes of mandarin orange peel, ripe peach, tangerine, and pineapple."
I was amazed, amused & hazed on the Crack! of the vent, revealing a brimful craft CAN! I decided that since it was unfiltered that it could withstand a heavy Glug. My glass was the losing recipient as it foamed forth unCANtrollably to eventually form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with decent retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose was very fruity, like a tropical fruit cup in my lunch pail. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. Sehr gut! The taste was very tropical fruity, but it was imbued with a menthol/eucalyptus mintiness that really made it for me. The fruity parts could go hang, but that cool, minty freshness was what really made me sit up. Whew! Did I just freshen my breath? Dang, but this was good! Finish remained cool, minty & dry. Yes!
