This is exactly what I want in an amber ale. It doesn't try to be an IPA, but neither does it try to be a lager.

It doesn't try to look like a Guinness, and it doesn't look like Bud Light.

A solid, solid beer.

The appearance has a dark rusty amber/red colored body with a one and a half fingered white foamy head that lasts for a good minute before gently dieing into the body, some light speckled lacing sticks nicely to the sides of the glass. The smell has some earthy caramel malts and light bitter hops that round out a nice sweet aroma with some toffee coming through. The taste has mainly a sweetness running through the caramel malts. There is some toffee that comes through with a light nuttiness to it with a light caramel/nutty aftertaste and a dry sweet finish. On the palate, it sits about a light to medium in the body with a decent enough sessionable aspect to it that could assist in going with its respected food. Carbonation is somewhat smooth but still there’s a decent harshness to subside the palate a bit longer as there’s the element of a slight creaminess rolling over the mouth and tongue. Overall, I would say this is a nice American Amber/Red Ale easy to come back to.

I've had this beer three ways: once on tap at the brewery, once out of the bottle into a glass, and once straight from the can. Of course, my favorite way is on tap at the brewery, but, alas, I can not always have it that way. Anyway, this tasting was straight from the can, and I found it pleasing and easier to enjoy. The feel on the tongue was a bit flat, which was fine by me, because I do not like a lot of aftertaste. The smell was smoky, with a nice roasty, "bittery", peppery taste. On a side note: a great brewery with great people running it. Easily will purchase a six pack of this.

Had 12 oz cans from 2 different sixpax... off smell of gassy ether. Tasted the same. Maybe bad batch? Could hardly stomach the nasaly grossness by holding my breath and not breathing through my nose after. My buddy had to dump em...

Poured from a 22 oz bottle without any date, poured into the modified tulip glass.
A - Nice clarity, deep copper colored, a mild level of carbonation feeds a loose knit cap.
Lacing clings in random patterns
S - Light toasted malts, toffee, caramel, brown sugar.
T - Follows the nose, thin toffee, sweet brown sugar and caramel, a hint of bitterness, veiled
aromatics.
M - Medium in body start is sweet, the palate coating is partial with a linger that is balanced nicely
with enough bitter to be clean.
O - A nicely crafted Amber Ale, there is sweetness and enough balance to be enjoyable.
Cheers all

22oz bomber: This one pours a fairly clear amber color. There was a decent sized light beige head on it. It has a lighter nose. Some caramel malts, faint fruits and faint pine. The taste is good. A bit of a piney hop bite, with some caramel malts in the background. Decent enough.

A friend picked this up from the brewery for me. Hazy amber-mahogany pour with a two finger beige head with decent retention and lacing. The nose is very malt forward with tons of caramel and brown bread along with hints of brown sugar, and nuts. The taste mirrors the nose with caramel malts totally dominating. Hints of brown bread, toffee, nuts, brown sugar, and subtle hoppiness. The mouthfeel is thick and slightly creamy with medium carbonation and great drinkability. Overall, this reminds me a lot of some of my favorite German Altbiers, specifically Uerige, although not as hoppy. A solid beer.
