On-tap at Oggi's Tustin
A: The beer pours an incredibly pale yellow color with a quickly vanishing white head.
S: A very light nose, but that's not really surprising. Some rice, maybe some corn as well. A hint of pale malts and grains. Not really any hops, but a definite yeastiness.
T: Moderately sweet with plenty of grainy flavor. Plenty of adjuncts to this one as well. Hints of fruit/esters, but not enough to really make a difference. A big time grain husk astringency.
M: Light in body and moderate to high carbonation.
O: It could have been worse. Unexpectedly this was one of the least offensive house beers.

My friend was surprised when I ordered this beer. A light beer? Well, if I microbrewery makes it, it should at least be somewhat pleasant, I thought. On to the beer:
Very pale yellow. There was a little fizy head on top that went away without notice, so I'm left with a lifeless glass of beer. Smell is...reminds me more of a cream ale. Sweet creamy corn, but the intensity is light. For something labled as light lager, I expected a cleaner, more to style smell.
Smells like "meh" cream ale, tastes like "meh" cream ale. Faint fruity esters, and a good dose of corny sweetness. It wasn't totally unpleasant. The body was light, with plenty of seltzery carbonation.
Oggi's light lager is like a cross of macro light beer and cream ale. Not for me, but at least my curiosity is gone.
