A huge head. Seriously... Huge! Thick and rocky with sticky lacing and a slow fade. A nice bit of covering. Quite cloudy, moderate carbonation activity.
Nose is twangy with wheat, juicy with an IPA style hop signature. Pine notes and melon sweetness with lots of citrus. Lots. Lemon, orange and grapefruit. Peppery bite tightens my nostrils. Notes of melon. Incredibly fragrant
Taste is so good. Light dough and bread. Mild, light caramel sweetness. Some wheat twang and a hint of lemon. The malt is subtly complex with a pilsner construct the seems just a bit fuller and darker, framed by the wheat. Hops hit large and oily. Juicy and dry. Pine and citrus in the front with a lightly tropical undercurrent. Hop oil coats the mouth as you swallow, but leaves my mouth quickly and clean. Light crackers lingering with a dry mouth light pucker.
Feel maybe better than I scored it. It's that good. Well carbonated like a hefe. Full in feel in a way that implies oats to me. Crisp and highly drinkable, with a passing heft. I'm captivated with each swallow. Refreshing and quenching. I can drink glass after glass of this.
An exceptional session ale. A great hoppy indulgence. Perhaps the best I've had I this style. As it sits right now, it's my standard. I'll have to keep some of this on hand on a regular basis.
