On-tap at Bronx Ale House, Bronx, NY

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down, leaving some lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Moderately strong aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—oranges seem to stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of citrusy flavors that linger through the finish. Only a slight amount of bitterness is noticeable.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has excellent drinkability—it delivers lots of citrusy aromas and flavors but isn't accompanied with the bitterness that can scare off some people.

Poured from the bottle, a straw color with the slightest hint of orange is capped by a modest head that soon dies down and leaves an ultra thin collar that retains nevertheless. Since it's unfiltered, it was adorned by floaters galore; if you don't like it, it's not for you. I don't mind.
I think the aroma might have been my favorite quality about this brew. Nice citrusy smell, mainly orange and some grapefruit. As it warmed some other fine qualities came out, such as a sweet malt aroma and a modestly dank and fresh herbal hoppiness. Pleasant overall.
In the mouth, it had a semi sharp piny hops bite. The restaurant must have had this bottle chilling for a while because it was served nearly ice cold which made it taste clean. However, as it warms up, some of the citrusy tones make their presence felt. The body is on the light side of medium; a bit thin at times.
Overall, I thought this was a decent, relatively simple and accessible IPA. Nothing earth shattering, but, drinkable and session like.

Yonkers Brewing Co had their beers on tap at the opening off the new Alamo Draft House. Got to enjoy their IPA (given out free in the lobby) while listening to all the speeches given by local politicians, and Tim League, the founder of the Alamo Draft House movie theater chain. After the Ribbon-cutting Ceremony, I went to see "The Way Way Back" and had more of their IPAs delivered to my seat while watching the movie! Now that's the way to watch a movie! Look forward to trying more of their beers at my future visits to the Alamo.
